A Tale of Two Golf Days

Insurance and golf go hand in hand, and this was on full display at the Marsh Golf Day in New Plymouth. Hosted at Ngamotu Golf Club, the course’s coastal outlook set the scene for a day that delivered everything Taranaki is known for — sun, rain, wind, and then sun again.

With 32 teams taking part, the atmosphere was lively and full of opportunity to connect with industry peers. Representing McLarens, Matt Horan, Kristen Harris, Tina Sheehan, Andrew Brooke, and retired professional golfer Craig Owen enjoyed a day of good golf, mixed conditions, and plenty of laughs. Playing alongside a pro brought insights that were both helpful and humbling, while time on the course created valuable connections the team looks forward to building on.

At the same time, in Palmerston North, Courtney Syverston and Peter Williamson represented McLarens at the annual Gallagher’s Golf Day. While recent weather events kept numbers slightly lower than usual, the day was still a success, with plenty of opportunity to connect across the industry.

McLarens sponsored the seventh hole, hosting the longest drive competition for women, and took the opportunity to reconnect with local brokers and discuss the latest developments. As Courtney noted, “we put in a solid effort, for a couple of motor assessors.”

A highlight of the day was the support shown for Hospice, with a sizeable donation raised through competitions and auctions, contributing to the vital work they continue to provide within the community.
