Aaron is a seasoned professional with an extensive career in the field of Loss Adjusting. He joined McLarens in 1997, and since then, he has been an integral part of the company's success. With over 25 years of experience, Aaron brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role.
Aaron's educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Studies, which has provided him with a solid foundation in business principles and strategic management. Additionally, he is a member of the New Zealand Insurance Law Association (NZILA), demonstrating his commitment to staying abreast of legal developments in the insurance industry.
Throughout his career, Aaron has handled a diverse range of claim types, accumulating valuable experience in various scenarios. His comprehensive understanding of different claim types has equipped him with the ability to assess, investigate, and manage claims effectively.
Since 2010, Aaron has focused his attention on commercial earthquake claims, encompassing both Material Damage and Business Interruption. His expertise in this specialised area of claims management has made him a sought-after professional in the industry.
Furthermore, Aaron has also dealt with larger and complex claims in the wider Wellington, Manawatu, and Hawkes Bay areas, and across the country, demonstrating his ability to handle high-stakes situations with precision and skill.
Adam is a loss adjuster specialising in motor claims, adept in handling light, heavy, and mechanical vehicle claims. Since joining McLarens in 2016, he has consistently demonstrated his expertise in navigating the complexities of these claims.
Adrian brings strategic, commercial, and operational expertise acquired from leadership roles spanning diverse sectors such as health, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, retail, renewable energy, and international trade.
A University of Auckland graduate, Adrian holds a BA in Economics & Education and has enhanced his skills with a Masters in Management. Complementing his academic foundation, he possesses certifications in Digital Marketing and Business Strategy.
Adrian has successfully led significant programs, product launches, organisational changes, and growth initiatives, showcasing his proficiency both within New Zealand and on the global stage.
Akshay began working in the insurance industry since 2018, after completing a Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma in International Business. He started with a major insurer as a claims case manager where he gained experience in lodging and managing motor, house, contents and marine claims as well as any escalations.
He started with McLarens in July 2021 as a Claims Technician with the Auckland branch before progressing to the position of Loss Adjuster in April 2023.
Akshay is a highly motivated and practical thinker with an extensive background in insurance, customer service, sales and marketing with a proven ability to consistently outperform and set benchmarks.
Alex began her insurance career in 2016 with Youi Insurance, right after graduating from AUT University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Events Management and minoring in Social Sciences. Initially starting in sales, she swiftly transitioned to the claims department, focusing on comprehensive management of motor claims.
In 2019, Alex joined McLarens, and by 2021, she was recognised as part of the Team of the Year at our Company Awards and Gala. This accolade underscores her dedication and expertise, contributing significantly to elevating the performance of the motor team to the pinnacle across the company.
Alvin joined McLarens in July 2013 after 16 years working for loss adjusters and insurance claims-based companies in the UK. Alvin's expertise lies in Material Damage, with a track record of handling diverse commercial and domestic claims.
In 2024, Andrew's extensive career in the insurance industry reached a pinnacle with his appointment as Managing Director of McLarens. With over 30 years of experience, Andrew holds the title of Chartered Loss Adjuster, accompanied by a Diploma in Loss Adjusting. He is also a Senior Associate with ANZIIF and a Fellow of AICLA.
As an Executive General Adjuster, Andrew worked in the Specialist Services team, managing complex and major losses throughout New Zealand. His approach is pragmatic and collaborative, guiding teams to efficiently handle and settle claims. Specialising in Major Loss scenarios, including Commercial, Manufacturing & Production, Shopping Centre, Earthquake, Public/Product Liability, and Construction Risk, Andrew's expertise is crucial in navigating challenging circumstances.
Andrew's leadership extends beyond operational roles; in 2010, he was elected to the National Board. In 2016, he assumed the role of board chair for CNZ Group, retaining the position until 2020 when the organisation was acquired by McLarens New Zealand. This period marked Andrew's effective leadership, steering the organisation through strategic decisions and contributing to its evolution into the renowned entity it is today.
As Managing Director, Andrew continues to exemplify his dedication to the insurance industry, showcasing proficiency in both operational and strategic leadership.
Since 2006, Andrew has been immersed in the insurance industry, accumulating over a decade and a half of experience as a trusted Loss Adjuster. Renowned for his expertise in managing residential and commercial losses, Andrew's journey began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Canterbury University.
Armed with analytical skills and a profound understanding of human behaviour, he has successfully led teams of Loss Adjusters through challenging times, notably during the aftermath of the 2010 and 2011 Christchurch earthquakes. Andrew's commitment to excellence, integrity, and empathy makes him a trusted partner for clients and colleagues alike.
Anita has accumulated considerable experience within the insurance industry since her entry in 2004. Since 2017, she has played a pivotal role as a Claims Technician at McLarens. Based in Rotorua, Anita offers indispensable technical support to loss adjusters in the Bay of Plenty region and across the McLarens network.
Ashley started in the insurance industry in 2018, as a claims consultant across various lines of business. Taking a keen interest in complex claims specifically in the Commercial space, Ashley gained experience in areas relating to Retail, Food & Beverage, Machinery Breakdown and Catastrophe.
Fluent in Shona and Ndbele, Ashley joined McLarens in 2022 as a Loss Adjuster in the Wellington branch.
Averil has been involved in the insurance industry for nearly 20 years working across New Zealand and Australia. She started with McLarens in 2006 in our Timaru branch working with loss adjusters on various claim types.
She has been involved in several CAT events in Perth and Christchurch and has experience managing claims end to end.
Beatrix embarked on her professional journey in 2007 as a liability adjuster in South Africa, following her tenure as a senior legal officer with a prominent insurance underwriter. She holds a law degree (BA(Law) B(Proc)) and was a member of the Institute of Loss Adjusters of Southern Africa.
In 2011, Beatrix made the move to New Zealand, bringing her wealth of expertise to a new landscape. She continued her educational pursuits, attaining the status of Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
Beatrix brings a substantial insurance background, coupled with legal expertise, to her role. Her focus lies in the meticulous domain of liability claim assessments, where she has consistently demonstrated proficiency and dedication. Her track record is marked by effective handling of diverse claims in the liability sector, underscoring her commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes in her professional endeavours.
Ben is a Specialist Adjuster with extensive experience in the loss adjusting profession. He entered the industry in 2006, initially based in the UK before relocating to New Zealand in December 2022. Ben specialises in commercial property and real estate sector losses, with a notable portfolio of leading large commercial accounts in the London market.
His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree, a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (Dip CILA), certification from the Chartered Insurance Institute (Cert CII), and proficiency in Insurance Technology accredited by the British Damage Management Association (BDMA Ins. Tech). Ben is also an Associate of ANZIIF, further enhancing his professional credentials.
Ben has a proven track record of handling multimillion-dollar claims, demonstrating his expertise in navigating complex insurance scenarios and delivering effective solutions.
Ben began his career in adjusting in 2001 with a global loss adjusting company in the UK. Starting as a Claims Technician, he progressed to the position of Team Manager before moving into an external loss adjusting role.
Ben has experience in handling a range of domestic and commercial claims, including large and complex losses, Contract Works and Business Interruption claims.
He holds a Diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK).
Braden, a graduate with a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Finance, has been a cornerstone at McLarens since 2012. Joining the Financial Adjusting Services team in 2016, after earning the ANZIIF Diploma of Loss Adjusting, he initially engaged in general loss adjusting before specialising.
Braden excels in analysing and mitigating the financial impact of disruptions on businesses, navigating the complexities of all manner of claims involving Business Interruption / Consequential Loss and Material Damage (including Stock). His expertise in handling complex losses underscores his reliability and results-driven approach.
Brendon is a highly skilled professional with a comprehensive background in the construction and insurance industries. He began his career in insurance in 2010, focusing on EQC building and land assessments, a role he continues to excel in today.
Since 2017, Brendon has been a Registered Building Surveyor, specialising in defect causation analysis, compliance, and weathertightness. Between 2015 and 2019, he served as a Senior Technical Advisor for litigation support, providing expert insights and guidance.
Brendon holds a Diploma in Building Surveying, is a Registered Building Surveyor, and possesses a Trade Certificate in Carpentry.
Brylee joined McLarens in 2021 as a Claims Administrator and quickly advanced to the role of Claims Technician. Now, she provides essential technical support to Commercial & Domestic Loss Adjusters across the lower south island and McLarens' wider network.
In 2022, Brylee completed the Introduction to Loss Adjusting course, further enhancing her expertise in the field. Her dedication and adaptability make her a valuable asset to the team, ensuring efficient claims handling and client satisfaction.
Carina brings over three decades of experience in the insurance industry, beginning her journey in 1987 in South Africa. Since joining McLarens in August 2012, she has honed her skills as a Claims Technician while also making significant contributions to managing CAT claims across Australia and New Zealand.
Casey is an experienced insurance professional with over 14 years of expertise in the industry. She holds a Bachelor of Communications Studies and is an Associate of ANZIIF. She embarked on her insurance journey with a domestic insurer, where her passion for the field quickly emerged. As her career progressed, she transitioned into managing commercial claims, gaining valuable expertise in this area.
In a defining moment of her career, Casey took on an 8-month secondment managing Christchurch earthquake claims, honing her skills and demonstrating her ability to handle complex situations. Building on this experience, she later moved to a specialist team, dedicating the last 10 years of her career to managing Liability claims.
Throughout her tenure, Casey has effectively managed various types of Liability claims, including General Liability encompassing Service and Repair and Defective Workmanship, Statutory Liability, Employment Disputes, and Fidelity/Crime cases. Her keen eye for detail, analytical mindset, and client-focused approach have consistently consistently resulted in favorable outcomes for any claims she has managed.
In July 2023, Casey joined McLarens as a Senior Liability Adjuster, bringing her extensive knowledge and expertise to contribute to the company's continued success in handling Liability claims. With her proven track record and dedication to excellence, Casey continues to make significant contributions to the insurance industry.
Catherine is a distinguished professional with a rich and diverse background in the marine industry, specialising in a wide array of sectors within the field. Her comprehensive expertise spans the realms of marine services, sales, yacht club leadership, offshore yachting, and consultancy for America's Cup campaigns. Fluent in English, French, and German, Catherine brings a global perspective to her work.
Catherine's journey in the marine industry began with an apprenticeship under a shipwright, leading to roles in marine electronics and yacht sales. Five years of offshore sailing adventures added a unique perspective to her career.
After acquiring a yacht brokerage in Westhaven Marina in 2014, Catherine successfully managed it for nine years, expanding its influence and status within the yachting community.
In early 2023, Catherine sold her brokerage and founded a new company offering marine consulting services, leveraging her extensive experience and international network. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, Catherine's team is well-equipped to address the diverse needs of the marine sector.
Further, Catherine joined McLarens in 2023, specialising in marine claims. Drawing upon her extensive background, she transitioned into a role as a Loss Adjuster, utilising all her experience to provide top-tier support.
Charlotte brings seven years of extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a rich background spanning England and New Zealand. She has ventured into various domains, including fraud investigation, domestic and commercial claims, and now embarks on her journey in the realm of loss adjusting.
With a specialised focus on buildings and contents claims, Charlotte has honed her skills in detecting and investigating fraud, ensuring the integrity of insurance processes. Her commitment to excellence is underscored by her attainment of the ICA Qualification, a globally recognised benchmark of competence in anti-money laundering, risk management, compliance, and financial crime prevention.
Joining McLarens in 2024, Charlotte continues to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and expertise in the insurance sector.
Chloe's tenure as a Loss Adjuster with McLarens began in 2009, initially based in our Auckland branch. Her journey then took her to Christchurch, where she dedicated three years to assessing earthquake claims, showcasing her expertise in navigating complex situations with finesse and empathy.
Recognising her exceptional skills, Chloe transitioned into a senior role within the company, relocating to Whangarei. In her current capacity, she oversees operations in the Northland region, bringing her wealth of experience and leadership to ensure clients receive unparalleled support and resolution.
Chris brings a wealth of experience in business, finance, and insurance to his role as the Loss Adjuster Team Leader. His journey in claims management began in Pretoria, South Africa, where he joined Digicall Assessing Solutions as a Junior Assessor in 2017, after several years in the broker space. During his tenure at Digicall, Chris was instrumental in enhancing the company's national fire claim response service, eventually rising to the position of National Head of Building Inspections, where he oversaw building inspections across the country.
In September 2022, Chris and his family immigrated to New Zealand, where he quickly took on a role as a Loss Adjuster in Napier. Just two weeks into his new role, Cyclone Gabrielle struck, accelerating his learning curve and allowing him to make a significant impact by assisting hundreds of families in a short period.
Chris holds an ANZIIF Diploma of Loss Adjusting and is a Senior Associate CIP. He is also an Affiliate Member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA). With a strong foundation in the industry since 2010 and a focused expertise in claims management since 2017, Chris is dedicated to leading his team with the same commitment and resilience that has defined his career.
Claire brings over two decades of comprehensive experience in the insurance sector, encompassing sales, underwriting, and claims management. With a career kickstarting in 2003, she navigated through various roles, gaining a nuanced understanding of the industry's intricacies.
Claire began her journey with McLarens in 2012, where she seamlessly integrated her prior experiences to excel as a Loss Adjuster. Leveraging her extensive background, she honed her skills in navigating the intricacies of insurance, demonstrating proficiency across sales, underwriting, and claims.
Claire is a qualified Chartered Loss Adjuster and holds a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, along with being an Associate of AICLA. Her practical expertise and dedication underscore her commitment to delivering results in the insurance sector.
Claudine embarked on her journey with McLarens in 2021, starting as a Claims Technician before advancing to the role of Loss Adjuster. Claudine is committed to providing customers with the best possible experience, offering guidance and assistance every step of the way through their claim journey.
Dale has a background in farming and agriculture, working in the industry for 11 years across Northland before joining the New Zealand Police. During his service with the police, Dale was stationed on the North Shore of Auckland before moving into Highway Patrol for a few years. He progressed into a uniformed investigative role which he held till the conclusion of his 13 year service with the police.
Following Dale's time as a police investigator he gained experience in the construction industry, owning his own light construction company before taking on a management role with a road marking company in Christchurch. He carried his knowledge of road marking though to working at Lyttelton Port where he implemented an in-house marking programme.
Dale's experience across a various industries and extensive investigative skills makes him an asset on any claim.
Danie joined McLarens in 2008 following 17 years with multi-national adjusting firms in South Africa and New Zealand. He is highly experienced in dealing with large losses and has built a solid reputation for progressing complex claims through their most challenging stages.
During the Canterbury Earthquakes of 2010-2011, Danie was the lead adjuster on a large volume of major earthquake claims and led a team handling over 400 cases, entailing a complex range of Material Damage and Business Interruption issues due to incurring damage from multiple events.
Danie has managed large and complex losses in South Africa, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands using his skills to streamline claims through balancing sound technical skills with a commercially sensible and pragmatic approach.
Darren, equipped with Bachelors Degrees in Commerce and Arts, began his insurance career in 2017 with a major New Zealand insurer. In April 2022, he transitioned to McLarens, assuming the role of Claims Technician. During his time at McLarens, Darren's exceptional proficiency and dedication were evident, leading to his promotion to the role of Loss Adjuster. Throughout his tenure, he has exclusively focused on claims management, accumulating extensive experience in handling diverse claims across domestic and commercial sectors.
Darren brings a wealth of expertise to McLarens since joining in 2021. With seven years of experience in home, contents, and motor claims lodgment, coupled with three years specialising in earthquake claim management, Darren is well-versed in navigating diverse insurance scenarios.
His additional proficiency lies in handling contents claims, particularly those involving photographic, video, and scuba equipment. Darren's comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience enable him to provide tailored solutions to meet any specific needs efficiently.
Dave brings over 13 years of invaluable experience from his tenure at EQC, where he specialised in assessing and settling natural disaster claims. Joining EQC in 2016, he was appointed as one of the pioneering subject matter experts, leading the development of new methods and systems for assessing multi-unit buildings (MUBs). Dave's innovative approaches simplified processes and significantly reduced inflated cash settlements.
During his time at EQC, Dave spearheaded the organisation's response to the Kaikoura event and managed all land claims in the North Island, along with all MUBs across New Zealand. He also played a pivotal role in developing and implementing simplified methods for assessing and settling over-cap building claims.
Throughout his career, Dave held subject matter expert roles across various aspects and event spaces at EQC, eventually rising to the position of Senior Subject Matter Expert. He actively contributed to the development of operational and training materials for use by TPAs and insurers under the NDRA model. Dave conducted extensive training sessions for TPAs, insurers, and external agencies such as the NZ Building Surveyors Association, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of EQC processes.
Post Cyclone Gabrielle, Dave transitioned to McLarens to continue his work in assessing major EQC land and building losses. With a career spanning since 2010, Dave's expertise encompasses a wide range of natural disaster claims. Prior to his EQC role, he served as a Site Manager for complex builds involving high-rise buildings in the Wellington CBD.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Diploma of Loss Adjusting, and is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF. He is also a licensed Building Practitioner in Carpentry and Site 1, as well as being EQC accredited.
Dave has been in the insurance industry since 1993 and is a Chartered Loss Adjuster. He is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and is an Associate and serves as the New Zealand Division Secretary of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.
Specialising in Major Loss, which includes Commercial & Residential, Liability, Contract Works, and Marine Cargo and Hull claims, Dave has a wealth of experience in handling complex insurance matters. He has also attended numerous catastrophe events throughout New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji, demonstrating his expertise and dedication in the field.
With the insurance industry since 1987, David progressed to regional claims manager for a leading underwriter for 10 years before joining McLarens.
David specialises in large material damage, liability and contract works claims and is an Allied member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
David has experience in various CAT scenarios and has previously coordinated a CAT response on behalf of a lead Insurer. He was also involved in scoping, pricing and reinstating EQ damaged homes in Christchurch. In addition to this David has been involved in external deployments, including the assessment of damaged properties following the 2016 Sydney hail storms.
David is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with over 30 year’s loss adjusting experience specialising in Material Damage, Liability and Contract Works. Commencing his career with McLarens after completing NZCE (Civil Engineering) stage 1, David has adjusted many complex and high value losses.
He is an Associate member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters, a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, a Certified Insurance Professional and member of the New Zealand Insurance Law Association.
David has been recognised for his technical and case management skills as technical team lead during and following the Canterbury earthquake. He provides training and advice to staff around New Zealand and industry groups.
Debbie began her career with McLarens in 1993 and has since advanced from a Claims Technician to a Customer Solutions Specialist. She holds a Diploma of Loss Adjusting and possesses extensive experience in adjusting large value material damage losses, both commercial and domestic.
Debbie is committed to providing support and effective communication to all parties involved in a claim until its resolution. Leveraging her vast experience and expertise, Debbie also mentors and trains Loss Adjusters within the Napier branch and across the wider network.
With over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Deidre has amassed a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Her journey began in 1997, and since then, she has held diverse roles spanning underwriting and claims, both directly for insurers and for external adjusting firms. Deidre transitioned to the role of Loss Adjuster in 2004, where she honed her skills in managing various types of Domestic and Commercial losses.
In 2021, Deidre brought her extensive experience to McLarens, joining the team to specialise in large loss and commercial claims.
Denise brings over 15 years of experience in the legal and office administration fields. Originating from South Africa, she has extended her expertise abroad, joining McLarens in 2023 as a Recoveries Consultant.
Denise holds an ANZIIF Dispute Resolutions qualification and possesses strong negotiation skills, enabling her to achieve optimal settlements for clients in motor vehicle accident claims. She also ensures regulatory compliance throughout the claims process.
Her career demonstrates proficiency in administration management, legal document drafting, and overseeing recoveries from start to finish. With a background in third-party recoveries and insurance claims handling, Denise excels in client relationship management, ensuring satisfaction throughout the claims process.
Denise's analytical abilities, coupled with her adeptness in navigating legal procedures, make her an invaluable asset in the motor team. She specialises in managing motor vehicle accident claims and providing litigation support, emphasising dedication to excellence and a results-driven approach.
Diana is an invaluable contributor to our organisation's growth and success, with a dedicated presence in the insurance industry since 2011. Diana's role is central to shaping our company's policies and procedures, particularly in support of our most valuable asset: our people.
With a solid academic foundation, Diana holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and History, complemented by a Post Graduate Diploma in Business and Administration. Her academic achievements reflect her commitment to a well-rounded understanding of her field.
Diana's responsibilities extend to developing policies and procedures that are instrumental in creating an environment where our employees can thrive. Diana's journey with McLarens began in 2011 when she returned to New Zealand from the United Kingdom. Donna joined the insurance industry in 1987 starting her career working in general insurance. She began to specialise in marine claims in 2000 joining a marine specific broking house where she gained experience both underwriting and claims handling.
Since then she has continued with a focus on marine claims and gained qualifications in Risk Management and Supply Chain from MIT. Donna has a passion for commercial marine and liability claims holding a marine underwriting position before joining McLarens in January 2023.
Donna has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry, starting with McLarens in 1992. Working across various roles, she gained deep understanding and knowledge of the claim process, progressing to a senior Claims Technician.
In 2018, Donna's unwavering commitment and effective communication skills led to a significant milestone in her career—the well-deserved promotion to the position of New Plymouth Team Manager. In this leadership role, Donna showcased her ability to not only manage teams but also to inspire and guide them towards achieving collective success.
Continuing her trajectory of professional growth, Donna has recently transitioned into a new role within our Specialist Services team. Bringing her managerial and technical skills to work on major complex claims, Donna's wealth of experience, coupled with her unwavering commitment to providing exemplary service, makes her a trusted and accomplished professional in the insurance industry.
Erika commenced her journey in the insurance industry with McLarens in 2002. Starting as a Claims Technician, she swiftly progressed to become a proficient Loss Adjuster. Her exceptional skills and numerous qualifications led to her appointment as Team Manager of the Domestic Claims Team in Auckland in 2019.
Leading this bustling team, Erika's wealth of experience and expertise serve as cornerstone, particularly during tumultuous events like the recent cyclones and floods in Auckland. Her leadership was pivotal as she coordinated with international adjusters, ensuring seamless handling of claims in New Zealand while keeping everyone afloat amidst challenging circumstances.
Esther entered the insurance industry in 2001, commencing as a Claims Adviser at State Insurance. By 2003, her expertise led her to become a Quality Analyst for broker personal lines underwriting.
She furthered her qualifications, earning a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, which paved the way for her transition to a Loss Adjuster role in 2004 with IAG. Esther specialises in contract works, public liability, and general adjusting, showcasing two decades of dedication, profound understanding of insurance intricacies, and commitment to delivering exceptional service
Evan became a Loss Adjuster in 2008 in South Africa and holds a Diploma in Loss Adjusting and is a Senior Associate from ANZIIF. He is also an Affiliate member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA). With extensive management experience, Evan has successfully audited and managed Loss Adjusters, demonstrating a commitment to quality and accountability in the field.
Evan has handled numerous catastrophe events across South Africa and New Zealand, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to complex claims situations. He joined McLarens in 2024, where he continues to apply his skills to support clients through challenging claims processes.
Frank began his career in the insurance industry as a claims investigator with State Insurance approximately 20 years ago, following a 14-year tenure with the NZ Police and 8 years managing investigation teams at the Ministry of Agriculture and the New Zealand Biosecurity Authority.
He then joined Royal and Sun Alliance, later known as Vero Insurance, as a claims investigator based in Auckland. During his time at Vero, Frank held several roles, including Investigation Manager, Claims Audit Manager, and Fraud and Risk Manager, until his role was disestablished and he took redundancy.
After a one-year break from work, Frank joined the McLarens Motor Claims Team in a part-time capacity. In this role, he processes motor claims, advises on policy responses, handles fraud investigations, and completes claims auditing and declined claim notifications.
Frank holds a Diploma in Policing and brings extensive experience in claims investigation, fraud investigation, risk management, and auditing, making him a valuable asset to the McLarens team.
Fraser embarked on his journey in the insurance sector back in 1992, where he commenced his career with AMI Insurance. Over the span of his tenure, he held various pivotal roles encompassing the underwriting of Motor, Fire, General, Boat, and Farm insurance. Demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities, Fraser moved to the position of Branch Manager in 2007, a role he held until his departure in 2016.
Transitioning from his tenure at AMI, Fraser leveraging his wealth of experience and expertise venturing into senior positions at prominent establishments such as Avis, ACC, and Asset Managers.
In 2020, Fraser took on a new challenge as he joined McLarens, where he continues to bring his strategic insights and leadership skills to the fore.
Gayatri commenced her insurance career with a major insurer in 2008, while completing her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland. During her 8.5 years with the company, she transitioned from a sales role to claims with several promotions in between.
She started to work on more complex claims as her experience and knowledge grew with her continued studies completing a Diploma in General Insurance, ANZIIF (Snr Assoc) CIP. Gayatri started to specialise in marine claims, enjoying the variety of claims from personal effects damaged in transit, small meat claims to commercial hull and pleasure craft. During this time, she helped establish the New Zealand chapter of the Young Insurance Professionals.
Following a short travel sabbatical overseas, Gayatri enriched her knowledge base with experience working for an insurance broking house and stints in the medical and wine industries. On her return to Auckland, Gayatri has reignited her passion for marine claims joining McLarens in 2022, with a focus to ensuring each claim is handled in an efficient and pragmatic manner.
Geoff has been a Loss Adjuster since 2007. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Diploma for Graduates in English.
Geoff commenced his career in the Insurance Industry with McLarens in 2006.
He undertakes a range of property adjustments which has included a number of large value commercial losses relating to the Christchurch earthquake, various assignments with the Earthquake Commission and general property claims.
Gioia has over 40 years’ experience in the insurance industry starting in claims and underwriting before moving to loss adjusting. She became a Loss Adjuster in 1996 and is an Associate of the Australian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters. She has significant experience with all claim types including numerous CAT events in New Zealand and Australia.
Gioia specialises in Building Warranty, Commercial Property, Contract Works, Engineering and Machinery Breakdown, Public Liability and Major Loss – Residential.
Greg, a Chartered Loss Adjuster, began his insurance career in 1979. Prior to joining McLarens, he excelled in managing substantial corporate portfolios as a commercial broker, particularly within the dairy and local government sectors. In 2011, Greg transitioned into the field of Loss Adjusting where he pursued additional studies. He is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and Associate of the AICLA, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and professional development.
Since becoming a part of the McLarens team, Greg has demonstrated his proficiency as a commercial Loss Adjuster. He effectively manages numerous losses, including navigating through multi-million-dollar claims following the Christchurch earthquake. Greg's portfolio includes overseeing complete building reinstatements, managing complex multi-unit/multi-insurer sites, and skillfully negotiating cash settlements. His experience extends to effectively handling significant fire losses and actively participating in various weather-related events across New Zealand and Australia.
Greg brings a robust 30-year background in the construction industry, covering both residential and commercial projects. Since starting his career in insurance in 2014, he has specialised in the assessment of land and buildings, with expertise in costing and managing repairs.
Greg holds a Diploma in Loss Adjusting (Dip LA) and a Diploma in Architectural Technology (Dip AT). He is also a Licensed Building Practitioner in Carpentry (LBP) and possesses an NZ Certificate in Carpentry.
His extensive experience includes construction, complaints resolution, EQC land and building issues, and complex repairs.
Greg is a qualified builder with a wealth of experience in assessing, documenting, estimating, and reporting on residential land and building damage covered by the current Earthquake Commission Act 1993 (soon to be the Natural Hazards Act). He entered the industry in 2010 and has since demonstrated his expertise in handling various complex cases.
Greg has a track record of success, including multiple cap payments for residential building damage in the Canterbury earthquakes and extensive land settlements resulting from Auckland storm events and Cyclone Gabrielle.
In addition to his practical experience, Greg holds a Diploma in pip and stone fruit production (1990) and completed an apprenticeship in building in 2000. He has also undertaken numerous health and safety courses, including those in working at heights, methamphetamine awareness, testing, and decontamination methodology in 2016. Greg is certified as a Health and Safety Coordinator stage 5 and has completed multiple other H&S certificates through Impact Risk & Safety Management and WorkSafe. He also completed the EQC Foundation for leader course in 2014 and asbestos awareness training in 2012.
Hasani, who joined McLarens in 2022, serves as a Customer Solutions Coordinator within the Natural Hazards Team. With a Bachelor of Laws LLB (Honours) from the University of Staffordshire, her legal qualifications enrich her specialisation in EQC claims and data administration.
Bringing a robust foundation of legal expertise and customer support skills, Hasani is committed to delivering exceptional service to McLarens' clientele. Fluent in Sinhalese, she ensures effective communication and support for clients from diverse backgrounds.

Helen joined McLarens in 2011 as a Claims Technician, where she honed her skills across Domestic and Commercial claims. Helen's attention to detail, analytical skills, and customer-centric approach quickly made her an indispensable part of the McLarens team.
Recognising her exceptional talents and leadership potential, in September 2020, Helen was deservedly promoted to the position of Team Manager at our Hamilton branch. With her sharp attention to detail and customer-first mindset, Helen has been instrumental in our success. Under her leadership, the Hamilton branch has thrived, setting new standards of excellence.
Helena first joined the insurance industry in 2014 starting as a windscreen claims consultant before progressing to a recovery specialist on domestic and commercial property. She has extensive experience with CAT events across Australia including numerous bushfires and hail storms in Queensland.
Helena has achieved several general insurance and law papers through ANZIIF and is currently completing her Loss Adjuster diploma. Since joining McLarens in August 2022 Helena's focus has been on adjusting small to medium residential property claims.
Holly commenced her career within the insurance industry at McLarens in 2005, laying the foundation for her extensive expertise and wealth of experience. Since assuming the role of a Loss Adjuster in 2009, she has consistently demonstrated a profound understanding and remarkable proficiency culminating in her elevation to Chartered Loss Adjuster.
She is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and Associate of AICLA. Her areas of expertise include Commercial Property, Commercial Major Loss, and Public Liability. Her specialised knowledge and insightful approach consistently yield exceptional outcomes, earning her esteemed recognition among industry peers.
In 2021, Holly reached a significant career milestone by transitioning into the role of Team Manager. Steering the Nelson, Greymouth, and Christchurch teams, her robust leadership and strategic acumen have been instrumental in propelling these teams towards success. Ian has previously held senior financial roles in Europe and New Zealand, with his most recent CFO role being NZME in Auckland.Ian has worked with our Forensic Accounting Services team and brings a wealth of experience in Corporate Finance into the Finance Director role.
Ian has been involved in the insurance industry since 2016, steadily advancing to the role of Loss Adjuster in 2021. Holding a Diploma in Loss Adjusting and being a Senior Associate with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, Ian brings valuable expertise to his work.
His experience encompasses agriculture, catastrophe, commercial property, contract works, food and beverage, major loss residential, manufacturing, and retail claims. With a breadth of knowledge in these areas, Ian adeptly navigates diverse insurance scenarios, ensuring effective resolution for all parties involved.
Jacob is a BSc Building Surveying graduate from the UK with over five years of experience in various building industry roles. He possesses strong skills in project management, project design (building construction), and the use of AutoCAD and other scoping tools. His expertise in building technology further enhances his capabilities in the field.
Currently, Jacob is developing his knowledge in traditional loss adjusting after joining McLarens as an International Adjuster during the CAT event in January/February 2023. Prior to this, he worked as a self-employed professional in the insurance sector for four companies, handling low-valued domestic claims around the UK, up to £25,000 in value.
This experience has equipped Jacob with a solid understanding of policy responses, customer resolution skills, and the ability to transfer his building technology knowledge to the insurance industry, ensuring fair settlements for policyholders in the event of insurable perils.
Jacque is a dedicated and accomplished professional who has been an integral part of the McLarens team since 2010. With a passion for providing top-notch customer solutions, she took on the role of National Customer Solutions Manager in July 2023, further solidifying her commitment to excellence.
Having started as a claims tech support specialist, Jacque quickly showcased her technical prowess and problem-solving abilities. Her expertise in handling complex claims tech support matters earned her recognition among colleagues and clients alike. Throughout her tenure at McLarens, she has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the industry and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that every customer receives the highest level of service.
In 2015, Jacque took on the additional responsibility of managing the Ministry of Education Risk Management Scheme, where she spearheaded school contents claims with exceptional efficiency. Despite her growing managerial responsibilities, Jacque remains devoted to supporting Loss Adjusters within the broader team. James has worked in financial and management positions since 1985 moving to work as a Loss Adjuster in 2012. He is an Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant.
As a loss adjuster, he specialises in Agriculture, Food and Beverage, Hospitality and Retail claims, including both Business Interruption and Material Damage elements.
As a Chartered Accountant, James is also regularly consulted in relation to matters requiring forensic accounting expertise. As a result of his broad experience, James is able to navigate a range of complex financial matters to assist our clients in reaching an appropriate solution.
James entered the insurance industry in February 2023 following the Auckland Anniversary Floods and Cyclone Gabrielle, starting as a Claims Administrator. In September 2023, he progressed to the role of Claims Technician for the Auckland Domestic team.
Currently, James is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Property, majoring in finance, with three years remaining in his studies. Despite his recent start, he has already gained experience working on multi-million dollar fire claims and large-scale burglary claims. James's blend of academic pursuit and hands-on experience positions him well for a promising career in the insurance industry.
Janene is a property, liability and financial loss specialist who started in the industry in 1996. Throughout her career, Janene has managed claims across a wide range of industries including food products, dairy, meat, seafood, horticulture, wine and beverage, and chemical processing.
She has adjusted claims all across New Zealand as well as claims originating from New Zealand products or services which have been supplied to countries throughout Australasia, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. In addition to processing and manufacturing losses, Janene has adjusted major property and financial claims for a range of other industries throughout New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific Islands such as pulp and paper, energy, hospitality and tourism, healthcare, retail and professional services.
She provides Litigation Support and advice on a range of matters such as Business Interruption / Consequential Loss, Fidelity, Stock Reconciliation, Product Recall and Contamination. Janene has handled hundreds of major catastrophe claims and has also led teams of adjusters in the management and adjustment of catastrophe claims.
Janene is studying towards a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Commercial Law and Cost Accounting and holds a Diploma of Financial Services and is an ANZIIF (Senior Assoc) CIP.

Jayson has a background in carpentry completing a trade qualification before achieving honours in Building Science. Starting in the insurance industry in 1999, Jayson has worked in a variety of insurance claims roles in assessing, management and loss adjusting, both direct for insurer and for external adjusting companies.
Jayson has experience working on numerous catastrophe and earthquake events including both the Canterbury and Kaikoura recovery projects. He joined McLarens in August 2020, progressing to a Loss Adjuster Team Manager for Auckland in September 2021.
Jeff has been involved with in all types of liability insurance claims since 1980 working across UK, Europe, South America and New Zealand. His time across these various markets has provided a breadth of knowledge on complex claims management that can be applied to most casualty and financial lines types of claims.
From 1986 to 2001, Jeff contributed significantly to McLarens UK's Liability Division, gaining a reputation for his problem-solving skills and dedication to clients.
After moving to New Zealand, Jeff founded Casualty and Professional Services Limited (CPS) in 2007, a leading liability and financial lines specialist adjusting firm in New Zealand before joining McLarens in 2023.
Jeff's career is marked by handling complex, high-value claims, including pollution, environmental loss, product recalls, professional indemnity, and general liability.
He is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF, Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) by examination.
Jeff has extensive experience providing niche investigations and handling of casualty and financial lines claims, including those emanating from major and complex losses.
Jennifer has worked in the insurance industry since 1982 starting specialising in liability and local government. She progressed to the Liability Claims Manager for 7 years before becoming the National Claims Manager for 17 years at QBE.
Jennifer joined McLarens in 2018 as a Technical Claims Consultant working with the Specialist Services team.
Jess joined McLarens in 2022 as a Claims Technician. Leveraging her previous customer service experience, Jess has quickly gained expertise in the settlement of both domestic and commercial claims. With a focus on providing effective solutions tailored to each claim, she plays a pivotal role in ensuring client satisfaction and efficient claims resolution
Jess started with the insurance industry in 2016 in a project management role for an insurers building panel. Joining McLarens in 2022, Jess will have a focus on residential property and contents claims utilising her customer service and project managements skills and experience.
Jia has six years’ experience working on Canterbury earthquake claims and litigation support at the Earthquake Commission (EQC), specialising in complex claims, such as multi-unit buildings, and involving complaints, mediation and litigation.
Jia holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma in Loss Adjusting. She is an ANZIIF (Senior Associate) CIP and AICLA (Aff). With Chinese as her first language, Jia is able to easily adjust and assist others in translation and is regularly called upon to do so.
Jia joined McLarens in 2017, where she uses her general adjusting skills on a combination of commercial and domestic losses, such as property, contents and plant/stock. Additionally, Jia has managed EQC business as usual claims (in both building and land), as one of the Third Party service providers.
Further developing on her skillset, Jia joined the McLarens Specialist Services team in May 2022, specialising in Business Interruption losses.
Jill has been in the insurance industry since 2004 and became a loss adjuster in 2015. She has experience in both domestic and commercial contents/plant and equipment claims to the Insureds and our clients satisfaction.
Jodi became a part of McLarens in 1996, initially taking on the role of Claims Technician before progressing to become a Loss Adjuster in 2003. Over the years, she has amassed extensive experience in managing motor vehicle and material damage claims.

John-Paul has been in the Insurance Industry since 1995, and has been a Loss Adjuster since 2009. He has experience with various types of claims including large commercial claims, specialised equipment claims and total loss claims.
Jordan is a Loss Adjuster who joined McLarens in February 2020, boasting a career spanning over a decade in the insurance industry. With a primary focus on adjusting since 2014, Jordan brings a wealth of experience to the table. His expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, including CAT response throughout Australasia. Jordan has played a pivotal role in assessing losses stemming from significant storm events such as the 2015 Wanganui floods, the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake, and 2023’s Cyclone Gabrielle.

Kane has had over 10 years’ experience in adjusting losses from natural disasters ranging from Earthquake, Catastrophes to Landslips to Flooding. He has experience managing teams of Loss Adjusters and Estimator through the rebuild of Christchurch, following the 2010-2011 Canterbury Earthquake.
Kane's qualifications include an ANZIIF Diploma in Loss Adjusting, Cert & Advanced Trade Cert in Carpentry and is a Licenced Building Practitioner. He has had vast experience around New Zealand dealing with natural disaster events and the response thereof.
Kate has amassed over 30 years of extensive experience in the insurance industry, encompassing underwriting, claims, and brokerage. Joining McLarens in 2021 as a Loss Adjuster, she later transitioned to the role of Settlement Specialist in December 2023.
Her career journey includes a decade managing offshore risks in the Pacific Islands as a broker and five years at the Earthquake Commission, overseeing all land claims. Since refocusing on loss adjusting in 2012, Kate has specialised in property, liability, and landslip claims.
Kate holds an ANZIIF (Assoc) CIP qualification, a Diploma in Public Relations, and a National Certificate in Professional Communications, showcasing her dedication to ongoing professional growth.

Keegan has been a Loss Adjuster since early 2010 and prior to this worked within the Property Management profession.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Property Management & Valuation, and a Diploma in Loss Adjusting.
He is a Senior Associate Member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, and Associate Member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters
Keith has a background in building and property management before moving into the insurance industry in 2001. Starting his adjusting career in Wellington, Keith moved to Australia as branch manager handling a variety of commercial, domestic, marine and contract works claims.
His time in Australia saw him involved in a number of significant weather-related claims including cyclones Larry, Yasi & Debbie in Queensland, and storm events in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and NSW, together with several major flooding events in Queensland.
Keith assisted during the Christchurch earthquakes and relocated permanently back to New Zealand in 2018. Keith is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and a Fellow of AICLA.
Kelly has been a valuable member of the insurance industry since she joined our Customer Solutions Coordinator team in December 2021. Throughout her tenure, she has navigated challenging situations, including the Auckland Weather Event and Cyclone Gabrielle of 2023, adeptly managing numerous major storm claims. Her area of expertise lies in domestic building and contents claims, where she excels in ensuring fair adjustment and delivering exemplary customer service.

Kevin's journey in the realm of Loss Adjustment commenced in 2006, following a career spanning 16 years as a builder and 13 years in property management. Armed with a Trade Certificate in Carpentry, Kevin seamlessly integrates his extensive background into his current role as a Loss Adjuster, leveraging his construction and property management expertise to deliver informed and effective solutions.
Kristen began her career in the insurance industry in 1987, initially working with a large insurer. Margaret is a Chartered Loss Adjuster and an ANZIIF (Fellow) who has practiced in New Zealand and the UK since 1986.
She has adjusted claims across a wide range of industries as working for General Accident (Aviva) and Zurich in the claims area. Margaret is a strong advocate for skills development and has completed appointments as President of the Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow and as the Scottish Representative of The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters.
She has worked for McLarens since she immigrated to New Zealand in 2004. Margaret was Director in charge of the 2007 Gisborne Earthquake, Catastrophe response, leading the team of adjusters and managing a portfolio of large claims.
During the Canterbury Earthquake, Catastrophes of 2010 – 2011 Margaret was the lead adjuster on a large number of major claims and also led a team that handled over 1000 cases many of which entailed a range of complexities due to incurring damage from multiple events.

Richard is a qualified diesel mechanic with over 16 years claims experience. Richard works on claims specialising in areas such as commercial property, motor, livestock and equine, rural commercial, domestic property and farm machinery.
Richard has experience working as a diesel mechanic with RFL and The Gough Group. He spent time as a Linehaul driver and as a Senior Claims Specialist with NZI Heavy Transport working on their heavy machinery and legal claims.
He spent time training staff in India on motor claims in 2018 and organised the Wellington Truck and Transport Show which fundraised for charity, Life Flight from 2007 to 2017.
Richard has a wide insurance knowledge having worked in senior claim management, underwriting and branch management roles with a major insurer for seven years prior to joining McLarens as a Loss Adjuster in 2000.

He has handled a number of complex and high value claims throughout New Zealand as well as catastrophe events across Australia. Richard was heavily involved in major loss claims that resulted from the Canterbury and Kaikoura earthquakes.

Suzanne has gained experience in catastrophe response operations in the wake of the Canterbury Earthquake events and more, latterly, the catastrophe events across the North Island in 2023. She has significant experience in the Financial Services industry, especially in providing consequential loss calculations to support litigation proceedings.
Suzie started in the insurance industry in 2008 working with a large insurer in their liability team gaining experience in Public Liability claims.
