Adam is a loss adjuster specialising in motor claims, adept in handling light, heavy, and mechanical vehicle claims. Since joining McLarens in 2016, he has consistently demonstrated his expertise in navigating the complexities of these claims.

Akshay began working in the insurance industry since 2018, after completing a Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma in International Business. He started with a major insurer as a claims case manager where he gained experience in lodging and managing motor, house, contents and marine claims as well as any escalations.

He started with McLarens in July 2021 as a Claims Technician with the Auckland branch before progressing to the position of Loss Adjuster in April 2023.

Akshay is a highly motivated and practical thinker with an extensive background in insurance, customer service, sales and marketing with a proven ability to consistently outperform and set benchmarks.

Alex began her insurance career in 2016 with Youi Insurance, right after graduating from AUT University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Events Management and minoring in Social Sciences. Initially starting in sales, she swiftly transitioned to the claims department, focusing on comprehensive management of motor claims.

In 2019, Alex joined McLarens, and by 2021, she was recognised as part of the Team of the Year at our Company Awards and Gala. This accolade underscores her dedication and expertise, contributing significantly to elevating the performance of the motor team to the pinnacle across the company.

In June 2024, Alex was appointed Team Leader of the Provident team. She draws on her strong background in motor claims to lead the team with a focus on quality, consistency, and delivering great outcomes for our clients.

Alvin joined McLarens in July 2013 after 16 years working for loss adjusters and insurance claims-based companies in the UK. Alvin's expertise lies in Material Damage, with a track record of handling diverse commercial and domestic claims.

Ashley started in the insurance industry in 2018, as a claims consultant across various lines of business. Taking a keen interest in complex claims specifically in the Commercial space, Ashley gained experience in areas relating to Retail, Food & Beverage, Machinery Breakdown and Catastrophe.

Fluent in Shona and Ndbele, Ashley joined McLarens in 2022 as a Loss Adjuster in the Wellington branch.

Averil has been involved in the insurance industry for nearly 20 years working across New Zealand and Australia. She started with McLarens in 2006 in our Timaru branch working with loss adjusters on various claim types.

She has been involved in several CAT events in Perth and Christchurch and has experience managing claims end to end.

Beatrix embarked on her professional journey in 2007 as a liability adjuster in South Africa, following her tenure as a senior legal officer with a prominent insurance underwriter. She holds a law degree (BA(Law) B(Proc)) and was a member of the Institute of Loss Adjusters of Southern Africa.

In 2011, Beatrix made the move to New Zealand, bringing her wealth of expertise to a new landscape. She continued her educational pursuits, attaining the status of Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

Beatrix brings a substantial insurance background, coupled with legal expertise, to her role. Her focus lies in the meticulous domain of liability claim assessments, where she has consistently demonstrated proficiency and dedication. Her track record is marked by effective handling of diverse claims in the liability sector, underscoring her commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes in her professional endeavours.

Ben is a Specialist Adjuster with extensive experience in the loss adjusting profession. He entered the industry in 2006, initially based in the UK before relocating to New Zealand in December 2022. Ben specialises in commercial property and real estate sector losses, with a notable portfolio of leading large commercial accounts in the London market.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree, a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (Dip CILA), certification from the Chartered Insurance Institute (Cert CII), and proficiency in Insurance Technology accredited by the British Damage Management Association (BDMA Ins. Tech). Ben is also an Associate of ANZIIF, further enhancing his professional credentials.

Ben has a proven track record of handling multimillion-dollar claims, demonstrating his expertise in navigating complex insurance scenarios and delivering effective solutions. 

Ben began his career in adjusting in 2001 with a global loss adjusting company in the UK. Starting as a Claims Technician, he progressed to the position of Team Manager before moving into an external loss adjusting role.

Ben has experience in handling a range of domestic and commercial claims, including large and complex losses, Contract Works and Business Interruption claims.

He holds a Diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK).

Braden, a graduate with a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Finance, has been a cornerstone at McLarens since 2012. Joining the Financial Adjusting Services team in 2016, after earning the ANZIIF Diploma of Loss Adjusting, he initially engaged in general loss adjusting before specialising. 

Braden excels in analysing and mitigating the financial impact of disruptions on businesses, navigating the complexities of all manner of claims involving Business Interruption / Consequential Loss and Material Damage (including Stock). His expertise in handling complex losses underscores his reliability and results-driven approach.

Brendon is a highly skilled professional with a comprehensive background in the construction and insurance industries. He began his career in insurance in 2010, focusing on EQC building and land assessments, a role he continues to excel in today.

Since 2017, Brendon has been a Registered Building Surveyor, specialising in defect causation analysis, compliance, and weathertightness. Between 2015 and 2019, he served as a Senior Technical Advisor for litigation support, providing expert insights and guidance.

Brendon holds a Diploma in Building Surveying, is a Registered Building Surveyor, and possesses a Trade Certificate in Carpentry. 

Brylee joined McLarens in 2021 as a Claims Administrator and quickly advanced to the role of Claims Technician. Now, she provides essential technical support to Commercial & Domestic Loss Adjusters across the lower south island and McLarens' wider network.

In 2022, Brylee completed the Introduction to Loss Adjusting course, further enhancing her expertise in the field. Her dedication and adaptability make her a valuable asset to the team, ensuring efficient claims handling and client satisfaction.

Casey is an experienced insurance professional with over 14 years of expertise in the industry. She holds a Bachelor of Communications Studies and is an Associate of ANZIIF. She embarked on her insurance journey with a domestic insurer, where her passion for the field quickly emerged. As her career progressed, she transitioned into managing commercial claims, gaining valuable expertise in this area.

In a defining moment of her career, Casey took on an 8-month secondment managing Christchurch earthquake claims, honing her skills and demonstrating her ability to handle complex situations. Building on this experience, she later moved to a specialist team, dedicating the last 10 years of her career to managing Liability claims.

Throughout her tenure, Casey has effectively managed various types of Liability claims, including General Liability encompassing Service and Repair and Defective Workmanship, Statutory Liability, Employment Disputes, and Fidelity/Crime cases. Her keen eye for detail, analytical mindset, and client-focused approach have consistently consistently resulted in favorable outcomes for any claims she has managed.

In July 2023, Casey joined McLarens as a Senior Liability Adjuster, bringing her extensive knowledge and expertise to contribute to the company's continued success in handling Liability claims. With her proven track record and dedication to excellence, Casey continues to make significant contributions to the insurance industry.

Catherine is a distinguished professional with a rich and diverse background in the marine industry, specialising in a wide array of sectors within the field. Her comprehensive expertise spans the realms of marine services, sales, yacht club leadership, offshore yachting, and consultancy for America's Cup campaigns. Fluent in English, French, and German, Catherine brings a global perspective to her work.

Catherine's journey in the marine industry began with an apprenticeship under a shipwright, leading to roles in marine electronics and yacht sales. Five years of offshore sailing adventures added a unique perspective to her career.

After acquiring a yacht brokerage in Westhaven Marina in 2014, Catherine successfully managed it for nine years, expanding its influence and status within the yachting community.

In early 2023, Catherine sold her brokerage and founded a new company offering marine consulting services, leveraging her extensive experience and international network. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, Catherine's team is well-equipped to address the diverse needs of the marine sector.

Further, Catherine joined McLarens in 2023, specialising in marine claims. Drawing upon her extensive background, she transitioned into a role as a Loss Adjuster, utilising all her experience to provide top-tier support.

Chloe's tenure as a Loss Adjuster with McLarens began in 2009, initially based in our Auckland branch. Her journey then took her to Christchurch, where she dedicated three years to assessing earthquake claims, showcasing her expertise in navigating complex situations with finesse and empathy.

Recognising her exceptional skills, Chloe transitioned into a senior role within the company, relocating to Whangarei. In her current capacity, she oversees operations in the Northland region, bringing her wealth of experience and leadership to ensure clients receive unparalleled support and resolution.

Chris brings a wealth of experience in business, finance, and insurance to his role as the Loss Adjuster Team Leader. His journey in claims management began in Pretoria, South Africa, where he joined Digicall Assessing Solutions as a Junior Assessor in 2017, after several years in the broker space. During his tenure at Digicall, Chris was instrumental in improving the company's national fire claim response service, eventually rising to the position of National Head of Building Inspections, where he oversaw building inspections across the country.

In September 2022, Chris and his family immigrated to New Zealand, where he quickly took on a role as a Loss Adjuster in Napier. Just two weeks into his new role, Cyclone Gabrielle struck, accelerating his learning curve and allowing him to make a significant impact by assisting hundreds of families in a short period. Embracing this challenge, Chris continued to build on his expertise, using the steep learning curve as a springboard for further professional development.

Committed to growing his knowledge and skills, Chris pursued additional qualifications, earning a Diploma of Loss Adjusting and becoming a Senior Associate of ANZIIF. He is also a Chartered Loss Adjuster reaching the status of Associate with the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA).

In 2024, he joined McLarens as the Team Manager, looking after the Napier, Gisborne, and Taupo regions. With a strong foundation in the industry since 2010 and a focused expertise in claims management since 2017, Chris is dedicated to leading his team with the same commitment and resilience that has defined his career.

Claire brings over two decades of comprehensive experience in the insurance sector, encompassing sales, underwriting, and claims management. With a career kickstarting in 2003, she navigated through various roles, gaining a nuanced understanding of the industry's intricacies.

Claire began her journey with McLarens in 2012, where she seamlessly integrated her prior experiences to excel as a Loss Adjuster. Leveraging her extensive background, she honed her skills in navigating the intricacies of insurance, demonstrating proficiency across sales, underwriting, and claims.

Claire is a qualified Chartered Loss Adjuster and holds a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, along with being an Associate of AICLA. Her practical expertise and dedication underscore her commitment to delivering results in the insurance sector.

Courtney has been part of the automotive industry since 2000, bringing a wealth of experience as a qualified automotive engineer with additional expertise in repairing and maintaining aquacultural equipment.

His leadership journey includes serving as a service manager for a multi-franchise dealership in the Manawatū, where he honed his management skills. Courtney also has experience in loss adjusting, specialising in machinery breakdown and material damage claims.

Joining McLarens in November 2024, Courtney leads as our National Motor Business Manager, driving innovation and excellence within the Motor Team.

Dale has a background in farming and agriculture, working in the industry for 11 years across Northland before joining the New Zealand Police. During his service with the police, Dale was stationed on the North Shore of Auckland before moving into Highway Patrol for a few years. He progressed into a uniformed investigative role which he held till the conclusion of his 13 year service with the police.

Following Dale's time as a police investigator he gained experience in the construction industry, owning his own light construction company before taking on a management role with a road marking company in Christchurch. He carried his knowledge of road marking though to working at Lyttelton Port where he implemented an in-house marking programme.

Dale's experience across a various industries and extensive investigative skills makes him an asset on any claim.

Dave brings over 13 years of invaluable experience from his tenure at EQC, where he specialised in assessing and settling natural disaster claims. Joining EQC in 2016, he was appointed as one of the pioneering subject matter experts, leading the development of new methods and systems for assessing multi-unit buildings (MUBs). Dave's innovative approaches simplified processes and significantly reduced inflated cash settlements.

During his time at EQC, Dave spearheaded the organisation's response to the Kaikoura event and managed all land claims in the North Island, along with all MUBs across New Zealand. He also played a pivotal role in developing and implementing simplified methods for assessing and settling over-cap building claims.

Throughout his career, Dave held subject matter expert roles across various aspects and event spaces at EQC, eventually rising to the position of Senior Subject Matter Expert. He actively contributed to the development of operational and training materials for use by TPAs and insurers under the NDRA model. Dave conducted extensive training sessions for TPAs, insurers, and external agencies such as the NZ Building Surveyors Association, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of EQC processes.

Post Cyclone Gabrielle, Dave transitioned to McLarens to continue his work in assessing major EQC land and building losses. With a career spanning since 2010, Dave's expertise encompasses a wide range of natural disaster claims. Prior to his EQC role, he served as a Site Manager for complex builds involving high-rise buildings in the Wellington CBD.

Dave holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Diploma of Loss Adjusting, and is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF. He is also a licensed Building Practitioner in Carpentry and Site 1, as well as being EQC accredited.

Dave has been in the insurance industry since 1993 and is a Chartered Loss Adjuster. He is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and is an Associate and serves as the New Zealand Division Secretary of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.

Specialising in Major Loss, which includes Commercial & Residential, Liability, Contract Works, and Marine Cargo and Hull claims, Dave has a wealth of experience in handling complex insurance matters. He has also attended numerous catastrophe events throughout New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji, demonstrating his expertise and dedication in the field.

With the insurance industry since 1987, David progressed to regional claims manager for a leading underwriter for 10 years before joining McLarens.

David specialises in large material damage, liability and contract works claims and is an Allied member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

David has experience in various CAT scenarios and has previously coordinated a CAT response on behalf of a lead Insurer. He was also involved in scoping, pricing and reinstating EQ damaged homes in Christchurch. In addition to this David has been involved in external deployments, including the assessment of damaged properties following the 2016 Sydney hail storms.

David is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with over 30 year’s loss adjusting experience specialising in Material Damage, Liability and Contract Works. Commencing his career with McLarens after completing NZCE (Civil Engineering) stage 1, David has adjusted many complex and high value losses. 

He is an Associate member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters, a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, a Certified Insurance Professional and member of the New Zealand Insurance Law Association.

David has been recognised for his technical and case management skills as technical team lead during and following the Canterbury earthquake. He provides training and advice to staff around New Zealand and industry groups.

Debbie began her career with McLarens in 1993 and has since advanced from a Claims Technician to a Customer Solutions Specialist. She holds a Diploma of Loss Adjusting and possesses extensive experience in adjusting large value material damage losses, both commercial and domestic.

Debbie is committed to providing support and effective communication to all parties involved in a claim until its resolution. Leveraging her vast experience and expertise, Debbie also mentors and trains Loss Adjusters within the Napier branch and across the wider network.

With over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Deidre has amassed a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Her journey began in 1997, and since then, she has held diverse roles spanning underwriting and claims, both directly for insurers and for external adjusting firms. Deidre transitioned to the role of Loss Adjuster in 2004, where she honed her skills in managing various types of Domestic and Commercial losses.

In 2021, Deidre brought her extensive experience to McLarens, joining the team to specialise in large loss and commercial claims.

Denise brings over 15 years of experience in the legal and office administration fields. Originating from South Africa, she has extended her expertise abroad, joining McLarens in 2023 as a Recoveries Consultant.

Denise holds an ANZIIF Dispute Resolutions qualification and possesses strong negotiation skills, enabling her to achieve optimal settlements for clients in motor vehicle accident claims. She also ensures regulatory compliance throughout the claims process.

Her career demonstrates proficiency in administration management, legal document drafting, and overseeing recoveries from start to finish. With a background in third-party recoveries and insurance claims handling, Denise excels in client relationship management, ensuring satisfaction throughout the claims process.

Denise's analytical abilities, coupled with her adeptness in navigating legal procedures, make her an invaluable asset in the motor team. She specialises in managing motor vehicle accident claims and providing litigation support, emphasising dedication to excellence and a results-driven approach.

Donna joined the insurance industry in 1987 starting her career working in general insurance. She began to specialise in marine claims in 2000 joining a marine specific broking house where she gained experience both underwriting and claims handling.

Since then she has continued with a focus on marine claims and gained qualifications in Risk Management and Supply Chain from MIT. Donna has a passion for commercial marine and liability claims holding a marine underwriting position before joining McLarens in January 2023.

Donna has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry, starting with McLarens in 1992. Working across various roles, she gained deep understanding and knowledge of the claim process, progressing to a senior Claims Technician.

In 2018, Donna's unwavering commitment and effective communication skills led to a significant milestone in her career—the well-deserved promotion to the position of New Plymouth Team Manager. In this leadership role, Donna showcased her ability to not only manage teams but also to inspire and guide them towards achieving collective success.

Continuing her trajectory of professional growth, Donna has recently transitioned into a new role within our Specialist Services team. Bringing her managerial and technical skills to work on major complex claims, Donna's wealth of experience, coupled with her unwavering commitment to providing exemplary service, makes her a trusted and accomplished professional in the insurance industry.

Erika commenced her journey in the insurance industry with McLarens in 2002. Starting as a Claims Technician, she swiftly progressed to become a proficient Loss Adjuster. Her exceptional skills and leadership led to her appointment as Team Manager of the Domestic Claims Team in Auckland in 2019.

Leading the team during challenging times, such as Cyclone Gabrielle and the subsequent floods in Auckland a couple of years ago, Erika’s expertise and calm leadership ensured the seamless handling of claims, coordinating with international adjusters to manage the situation. Her impact is just as significant during day-to-day operations, where she works alongside her team to ensure consistent, high-quality service.

Erika has completed her Diploma of Loss Adjusting and is a Senior Associate with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF). She values learning and continues to expand her knowledge base, passing it on to her team and helping them grow alongside her.

Esther entered the insurance industry in 2001, commencing as a Claims Adviser at State Insurance. By 2003, her expertise led her to become a Quality Analyst for broker personal lines underwriting.

She furthered her qualifications, earning a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, which paved the way for her transition to a Loss Adjuster role in 2004 with IAG. Esther specialises in contract works, public liability, and general adjusting, showcasing two decades of dedication, profound understanding of insurance intricacies, and commitment to delivering exceptional service

Evan became a Loss Adjuster in 2008 in South Africa and holds a Diploma in Loss Adjusting and is  a Senior Associate from ANZIIF. He is also an Affiliate member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA). With extensive management experience, Evan has successfully audited and managed Loss Adjusters, demonstrating a commitment to quality and accountability in the field.

Evan has handled numerous catastrophe events across South Africa and New Zealand, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to complex claims situations. He joined McLarens in 2024, where he continues to apply his skills to support clients through challenging claims processes.

Frank began his career in the insurance industry as a claims investigator with State Insurance approximately 20 years ago, following a 14-year tenure with the NZ Police and 8 years managing investigation teams at the Ministry of Agriculture and the New Zealand Biosecurity Authority.

He then joined Royal and Sun Alliance, later known as Vero Insurance, as a claims investigator based in Auckland. During his time at Vero, Frank held several roles, including Investigation Manager, Claims Audit Manager, and Fraud and Risk Manager, until his role was disestablished and he took redundancy.

After a one-year break from work, Frank joined the McLarens Motor Claims Team in a part-time capacity. In this role, he processes motor claims, advises on policy responses, handles fraud investigations, and completes claims auditing and declined claim notifications.

Frank holds a Diploma in Policing and brings extensive experience in claims investigation, fraud investigation, risk management, and auditing, making him a valuable asset to the McLarens team.

Fraser embarked on his journey in the insurance sector back in 1992, where he commenced his career with AMI Insurance. Over the span of his tenure, he held various pivotal roles encompassing the underwriting of Motor, Fire, General, Boat, and Farm insurance. Demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities, Fraser moved to the position of Branch Manager in 2007, a role he held until his departure in 2016.

Transitioning from his tenure at AMI, Fraser leveraging his wealth of experience and expertise venturing into senior positions at prominent establishments such as Avis, ACC, and Asset Managers.

In 2020, Fraser took on a new challenge as he joined McLarens, where he continues to bring his strategic insights and leadership skills to the fore.

Gayatri commenced her insurance career with a major insurer in 2008, while completing her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland. During her 8.5 years with the company, she transitioned from a sales role to claims with several promotions in between.

As her experience and knowledge grew, supported by her continued studies—completing a Diploma in General Insurance, ANZIIF (Snr Assoc) CIP—she began handling more complex claims. Gayatri’s experience with marine claims includes a variety of cargo claims, commercial hull, pleasure craft, carrier, freight forwarders, and ship repairers liability claims. During this time, she helped establish the New Zealand chapter of the Young Insurance Professionals.

Following a short travel sabbatical overseas, Gayatri enriched her knowledge base with experience working for an insurance broking house and stints in the medical and wine industries. On her return to Auckland, Gayatri has reignited her passion for marine claims joining McLarens in 2022, with a focus to ensuring each claim is handled in an efficient and pragmatic manner.

Geoff has been a Loss Adjuster since 2007. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Diploma for Graduates in English.

Gioia has over 40 years’ experience in the insurance industry starting in claims and underwriting before moving to loss adjusting. She became a Loss Adjuster in 1996 and is an Associate of the Australian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters. She has significant experience with all claim types including numerous CAT events in New Zealand and Australia.

Gioia specialises in Building Warranty, Commercial Property, Contract Works, Engineering and Machinery Breakdown, Public Liability and Major Loss – Residential.

Greg, a Chartered Loss Adjuster, began his insurance career in 1979. Prior to joining McLarens, he excelled in managing substantial corporate portfolios as a commercial broker, particularly within the dairy and local government sectors. In 2011, Greg transitioned into the field of Loss Adjusting where he pursued additional studies. He is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and Associate of the AICLA, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and professional development.

Since becoming a part of the McLarens team, Greg has demonstrated his proficiency as a commercial Loss Adjuster. He effectively manages numerous losses, including navigating through multi-million-dollar claims following the Christchurch earthquake. Greg's portfolio includes overseeing complete building reinstatements, managing complex multi-unit/multi-insurer sites, and skillfully negotiating cash settlements. His experience extends to effectively handling significant fire losses and actively participating in various weather-related events across New Zealand and Australia.

With 35 years of experience as a registered electrician and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Management, Greg brings a wealth of technical knowledge and leadership to the McLarens team.

Joining us in November 2024, Greg serves as one of our Electrical & Machinery Causation Specialists. In this role, he provides invaluable expertise across Machinery Breakdown, Power and Energy, and Service and Repair claims. Greg also plays a key part in mentoring our team, ensuring a high level of technical proficiency and support in complex claim types.

Greg brings a robust 30-year background in the construction industry, covering both residential and commercial projects. Since starting his career in insurance in 2014, he has specialised in the assessment of land and buildings, with expertise in costing and managing repairs.

Greg holds a Diploma in Loss Adjusting (Dip LA) and a Diploma in Architectural Technology (Dip AT). He is also a Licensed Building Practitioner in Carpentry (LBP) and possesses an NZ Certificate in Carpentry.

His extensive experience includes construction, complaints resolution, EQC land and building issues, and complex repairs.

Greg is a qualified builder with a wealth of experience in assessing, documenting, estimating, and reporting on residential land and building damage covered by the current Earthquake Commission Act 1993 (soon to be the Natural Hazards Act). He entered the industry in 2010 and has since demonstrated his expertise in handling various complex cases.

Greg has a track record of success, including multiple cap payments for residential building damage in the Canterbury earthquakes and extensive land settlements resulting from Auckland storm events and Cyclone Gabrielle.

In addition to his practical experience, Greg holds a Diploma in pip and stone fruit production (1990) and completed an apprenticeship in building in 2000. He has also undertaken numerous health and safety courses, including those in working at heights, methamphetamine awareness, testing, and decontamination methodology in 2016. Greg is certified as a Health and Safety Coordinator stage 5 and has completed multiple other H&S certificates through Impact Risk & Safety Management and WorkSafe. He also completed the EQC Foundation for leader course in 2014 and asbestos awareness training in 2012.

Helen joined McLarens in 2011 as a Claims Technician, where she honed her skills across Domestic and Commercial claims. Helen's attention to detail, analytical skills, and customer-centric approach quickly made her an indispensable part of the McLarens team.

Recognising her exceptional talents and leadership potential, in September 2020, Helen was deservedly promoted to the position of Team Manager at our Hamilton branch. With her sharp attention to detail and customer-first mindset, Helen has been instrumental in our success. Holly commenced her career within the insurance industry at McLarens in 2005, laying the foundation for her extensive expertise and wealth of experience. Since assuming the role of a Loss Adjuster in 2009, she has consistently demonstrated a profound understanding and remarkable proficiency culminating in her elevation to Chartered Loss Adjuster.

She is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and Associate of AICLA. Her areas of expertise include Commercial Property, Commercial Major Loss, and Public Liability. Her specialised knowledge and insightful approach consistently yield exceptional outcomes, earning her esteemed recognition among industry peers.

In 2021, Holly reached a significant career milestone by transitioning into the role of Team Manager. Steering the Nelson, Greymouth, and Christchurch teams, her robust leadership and strategic acumen have been instrumental in propelling these teams towards success. Under her guidance, these teams have thrived, exemplifying her exceptional managerial skills and commitment to nurturing a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Jacob is a BSc Building Surveying graduate from the UK with over five years of experience in various building industry roles. He possesses strong skills in project management, project design (building construction), and the use of AutoCAD and other scoping tools. His expertise in building technology further enhances his capabilities in the field.

Currently, Jacob is developing his knowledge in traditional loss adjusting after joining McLarens as an International Adjuster during the CAT event in January/February 2023. Prior to this, he worked as a self-employed professional in the insurance sector for four companies, handling low-valued domestic claims around the UK, up to £25,000 in value.

This experience has equipped Jacob with a solid understanding of policy responses, customer resolution skills, and the ability to transfer his building technology knowledge to the insurance industry, ensuring fair settlements for policyholders in the event of insurable perils.

Jacque is a dedicated and accomplished professional who has been an integral part of the McLarens team since 2010. With a passion for providing top-notch customer solutions, she took on the role of National Customer Solutions Manager in July 2023, further solidifying her commitment to excellence.

Having started as a claims tech support specialist, Jacque quickly showcased her technical prowess and problem-solving abilities. Her expertise in handling complex claims tech support matters earned her recognition among colleagues and clients alike. Throughout her tenure at McLarens, she has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the industry and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that every customer receives the highest level of service.

In 2015, Jacque took on the additional responsibility of managing the Ministry of Education Risk Management Scheme, where she spearheaded school contents claims with exceptional efficiency. Her ability to manage intricate processes and streamline operations has significantly contributed to the success of the scheme, earning accolades from both educational institutions and government stakeholders.

Despite her growing managerial responsibilities, Jacque remains devoted to supporting Loss Adjusters within the broader team. Her hands-on approach and continuous dedication to providing claims tech support have been instrumental in helping the team navigate complex cases and deliver optimal outcomes for clients.

James has worked in financial and management positions since 1985 moving to work as a Loss Adjuster in 2012. He is an Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant.

As a loss adjuster, he specialises in Agriculture, Food and Beverage, Hospitality and Retail claims, including both Business Interruption and Material Damage elements. 

As a Chartered Accountant, James is also regularly consulted in relation to matters requiring forensic accounting expertise. As a result of his broad experience, James is able to navigate a range of complex financial matters to assist our clients in reaching an appropriate solution.

James entered the insurance industry in February 2023 following the Auckland Anniversary Floods and Cyclone Gabrielle, starting as a Claims Administrator. In September 2023, he progressed to the role of Claims Technician for the Auckland Domestic team.

Currently, James is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Property, majoring in finance, with three years remaining in his studies. Despite his recent start, he has already gained experience working on multi-million dollar fire claims and large-scale burglary claims. James's blend of academic pursuit and hands-on experience positions him well for a promising career in the insurance industry.

Janene is a property, liability and financial loss specialist who started in the industry in 1996. Throughout her career, Janene has managed claims across a wide range of industries including food products, dairy, meat, seafood, horticulture, wine and beverage, and chemical processing.

She has adjusted claims all across New Zealand as well as claims originating from New Zealand products or services which have been supplied to countries throughout Australasia, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. In addition to processing and manufacturing losses, Janene has adjusted major property and financial claims for a range of other industries throughout New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific Islands such as pulp and paper, energy, hospitality and tourism, healthcare, retail and professional services.

She provides Litigation Support and advice on a range of matters such as Business Interruption / Consequential Loss, Fidelity, Stock Reconciliation, Product Recall and Contamination. Janene has handled hundreds of major catastrophe claims and has also led teams of adjusters in the management and adjustment of catastrophe claims.  

Janene is studying towards a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Commercial Law and Cost Accounting and holds a Diploma of Financial Services and is an ANZIIF (Senior Assoc) CIP.

Janine began her career in the insurance industry in 2000, starting as a Loss Adjuster. She gained extensive experience working for a major insurer in New Zealand before joining McLarens in 2023. Janine now works in the Manawatu-Wanganui region, bringing her valuable expertise and years of industry knowledge to the team.

Jason has a wealth of experience in both the construction and insurance industries. With over 20 years in construction across residential and commercial projects, he brings extensive technical knowledge to his role. Since moving into the insurance sector in 2007, Jason has built a solid reputation for his expertise in loss adjusting and claims management.

Jason is a Licensed Building Practitioner and holds a City & Guilds Trade Certificate in Carpentry with Distinction. He is also an ANZIIF Certified Insurance Professional, having achieved the ANZIIF General Insurance Certificate and Diploma of Loss Adjusting.

His combined experience in construction and insurance allows Jason to deliver detailed assessments and reliable guidance to clients.

Jayson has a background in carpentry completing a trade qualification before achieving honours in Building Science. Starting in the insurance industry in 1999, Jayson has worked in a variety of insurance claims roles in assessing, management and loss adjusting, both direct for insurer and for external adjusting companies.

Jayson has experience working on numerous catastrophe and earthquake events including both the Canterbury and Kaikoura recovery projects. He joined McLarens in August 2020, progressing to a Loss Adjuster Team Manager for Auckland in September 2021.

Jeff has been involved with in all types of liability insurance claims since 1980 working across UK, Europe, South America and New Zealand. His time across these various markets has provided a breadth of knowledge on complex claims management that can be applied to most casualty and financial lines types of claims.

From 1986 to 2001, Jeff contributed significantly to McLarens UK's Liability Division, gaining a reputation for his problem-solving skills and dedication to clients.

After moving to New Zealand, Jeff founded Casualty and Professional Services Limited (CPS) in 2007, a leading liability and financial lines specialist adjusting firm in New Zealand before joining McLarens in 2023.

Jeff's career is marked by handling complex, high-value claims, including pollution, environmental loss, product recalls, professional indemnity, and general liability.

He is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF, Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) by examination.

Jeff has extensive experience providing niche investigations and handling of casualty and financial lines claims, including those emanating from major and complex losses.

Jennifer has worked in the insurance industry since 1982 starting specialising in liability and local government. She progressed to the Liability Claims Manager for 7 years before becoming the National Claims Manager for 17 years at QBE.

Jennifer joined McLarens in 2018 as a Technical Claims Consultant working with the Specialist Services team.

Jess joined McLarens in 2022 as a Claims Technician. Leveraging her previous customer service experience, Jess has quickly gained expertise in the settlement of both domestic and commercial claims. With a focus on providing effective solutions tailored to each claim, she plays a pivotal role in ensuring client satisfaction and efficient claims resolution

Jess started with the insurance industry in 2016 in a project management role for an insurers building panel. Joining McLarens in 2022, Jess will have a focus on residential property and contents claims utilising her customer service and project managements skills and experience. 

Jia has six years’ experience working on Canterbury earthquake claims and litigation support at the Earthquake Commission (EQC), specialising in complex claims, such as multi-unit buildings, and involving complaints, mediation and litigation.

Jia holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma in Loss Adjusting. She is an ANZIIF (Senior Associate) CIP and AICLA (Aff). With Chinese as her first language, Jia is able to easily adjust and assist others in translation and is regularly called upon to do so.

Jia joined McLarens in 2017, where she uses her general adjusting skills on a combination of commercial and domestic losses, such as property, contents and plant/stock. Additionally, Jia has managed EQC business as usual claims (in both building and land), as one of the Third Party service providers.  

Further developing on her skillset, Jia joined the McLarens Specialist Services team in May 2022, specialising in Business Interruption losses.

Jill has been in the insurance industry since 2004 and became a loss adjuster in 2015. She has experience in both domestic and commercial contents/plant and equipment claims to the Insureds and our clients satisfaction.

Jodi became a part of McLarens in 1996, initially taking on the role of Claims Technician before progressing to become a Loss Adjuster in 2003. Over the years, she has amassed extensive experience in managing motor vehicle and material damage claims.

Currently serving as the Team Manager for our Alexandra, Dunedin, Invercargill, and Queenstown offices, Jodi's depth of knowledge and leadership skills are invaluable in providing exceptional service and support to our clients.

With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Jody has established herself as a seasoned Loss Adjuster since beginning her career in 2000. Currently a Senior Associate with ANZIIF, she holds both a Diploma in Loss Adjusting and a Diploma in Accounting.

Jody’s expertise spans a wide range of Domestic and Commercial losses, including Earthquake and Landslip, Fire, Material Damage, Contract Works, and Liability fields. She is also an Affiliate of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA), reflecting her commitment to maintaining high standards within the profession.

Jody is dedicated to providing quality and accountable service in her role, ensuring clients receive the support they need during complex claims processes.

John-Paul has been in the Insurance Industry since 1995, and has been a Loss Adjuster since 2009. He has experience with various types of claims including large commercial claims, specialised equipment claims and total loss claims.

Jordan is a Loss Adjuster who joined McLarens in February 2020, boasting a career spanning over a decade in the insurance industry. With a primary focus on adjusting since 2014, Jordan brings a wealth of experience to the table. His expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, including CAT response throughout Australasia. Jordan has played a pivotal role in assessing losses stemming from significant storm events such as the 2015 Wanganui floods, the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake, and 2023’s Cyclone Gabrielle.

Beyond his work in insurance, Jordan has a background as a carpenter, providing repair quotes and overseeing projects that range from simple repairs to extensive renovations and new builds. This hands-on experience has endowed him with comprehensive knowledge of building practices, further enhancing his capabilities as a Loss Adjuster. Additionally, Jordan has experience in assessing and scoping heavy commercial motor losses and has worked for a heavy motor repairer, where he developed expertise in repair strategies and associated pricing.

Josh brings over a decade of extensive experience in the rural and agricultural insurance sector in the UK, initially starting his career with a prominent rural insurer in 2010 before transitioning to become a loss adjuster for a major industry player in 2017. With a specialised focus on farm-related claims, Josh has adeptly managed a wide array of losses encompassing livestock, poultry, produce, deadstock, farm buildings, and equipment, among others. His expertise extends to handling various classes of insurance products, including major and complex property losses.

Fluent in Mauritian Creole, Hindi and both spoken and written French, Josh brings a multilingual advantage to his professional endeavours. Additionally, he holds Cert CII certification from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK, further underscoring his commitment to excellence in the insurance industry

Joy is a Loss Adjuster with a strong background in both insurance and hands-on mechanical problem-solving. Before transitioning into the insurance industry, she spent 20 years as a dairy farmer, gaining firsthand experience with pumps, motors, and irrigators—often repairing them in emergency situations outside of normal business hours. This experience gave her a deep understanding of mechanical systems and a passion for making things tick again, a curiosity that continues to drive her work today.

Joy began her insurance career at IAG in Loss Adjusting support before moving to FMG, where she specialised in mechanical breakdown claims. In 2021, she joined McLarens as a Loss Adjuster, bringing a unique combination of technical expertise and industry insight. Her farming background, combined with her insurance experience, provides her with a practical understanding of the technical challenges involved in claims, particularly in farming, orcharding, viticulture, and commercial industries.

With a problem-solving mindset and a commitment to helping clients navigate complex claims, Joy is dedicated to achieving successful resolutions for those she assists.

Kane has had over 10 years’ experience in adjusting losses from natural disasters ranging from Earthquake, Catastrophes to Landslips to Flooding. He has experience managing teams of Loss Adjusters and Estimator through the rebuild of Christchurch, following the 2010-2011 Canterbury Earthquake.

Kane's qualifications include an ANZIIF Diploma in Loss Adjusting, Cert & Advanced Trade Cert in Carpentry and is a Licenced Building Practitioner. He has had vast experience around New Zealand dealing with natural disaster events and the response thereof.

Kate has amassed over 30 years of extensive experience in the insurance industry, encompassing underwriting, claims, and brokerage. Joining McLarens in 2021 as a Loss Adjuster, she later transitioned to the role of Settlement Specialist in December 2023.

Her career journey includes a decade managing offshore risks in the Pacific Islands as a broker and five years at the Earthquake Commission, overseeing all land claims. Since refocusing on loss adjusting in 2012, Kate has specialised in property, liability, and landslip claims.

Kate holds an ANZIIF (Assoc) CIP qualification, a Diploma in Public Relations, and a National Certificate in Professional Communications, showcasing her dedication to ongoing professional growth.

Her extensive knowledge and diverse skill set make Kate an invaluable asset in navigating complex insurance scenarios.

Keegan has been a Loss Adjuster since early 2010 and prior to this worked within the Property Management profession.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Property Management & Valuation, and a Diploma in Loss Adjusting.

He is a Senior Associate Member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, and Associate Member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters

Keith has a background in building and property management before moving into the insurance industry in 2001. Starting his adjusting career in Wellington, Keith moved to Australia as branch manager handling a variety of commercial, domestic, marine and contract works claims.

His time in Australia saw him involved in a number of significant weather-related claims including cyclones Larry, Yasi & Debbie in Queensland, and storm events in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and NSW, together with several major flooding events in Queensland.

Keith assisted during the Christchurch earthquakes and relocated permanently back to New Zealand in 2018. Keith is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and a Fellow of AICLA.

Kelly entered the insurance industry in 2018 at Vero Insurance, initially serving as a property claims consultant. There, she managed a variety of Commercial and Domestic property and contents claims.

In early 2022, Kelly transitioned to McLarens as a Claims Technician, providing essential support to Loss Adjusters. With her Bachelor of Applied Science degree, Kelly brings a blend of practical experience and academic knowledge to her role, ensuring effective claims management and client satisfaction.

Since joining McLarens in 2011, Keryn has worked as a Claim Technician working on a range of claims including assisting with the CAT events across Australia and New Zealand.

Keryn's proficiency extends to handling claims that require desktop assessment, where she offers essential support in claims management. Her expertise and dedication have been instrumental in ensuring the smooth handling of claims and bolstering client satisfaction throughout her tenure at McLarens.

Kevin's journey in the realm of Loss Adjustment commenced in 2006, following a career spanning 16 years as a builder and 13 years in property management. Armed with a Trade Certificate in Carpentry, Kevin seamlessly integrates his extensive background into his current role as a Loss Adjuster, leveraging his construction and property management expertise to deliver informed and effective solutions.

Lance is a seasoned professional with a diverse and accomplished career in the motor industry. With over 15 years of experience, he has demonstrated his expertise in various roles, including sales, service, and panel beating. In 2017, he transitioned to the field of Loss Adjustment, where he has since excelled and earned a reputation for his outstanding skills and knowledge.

In July 2023, Lance was appointed as the Loss Adjuster Team Manager for the Wellington branch, a testament to his leadership abilities and dedication to the profession.

As a Loss Adjuster, his expertise spans across Heavy, Light, and Mechanical Motor assessments, Service and Repair evaluations, Major Loss (Residential & Commercial) investigations, and Marine Hull claims. With an acute understanding of the complexities and challenges faced in these sectors, Lance brings a comprehensive perspective to each case he handles.

One of Lance's significant accomplishments is the attainment of National Certificates in Automotive Body Collision Repair at Level 3 & 4, underscoring his commitment to professional development and industry excellence. Moreover, he has earned the prestigious I-CAR Platinum recognition, a testament to his exceptional skills in vehicle collision repair and technical proficiency.

Throughout his career, Lance has demonstrated a passion for providing exceptional service to his clients and ensuring fair and accurate assessments in every situation. His keen eye for detail, analytical mindset, and exceptional communication skills make him an asset to McLarens.

Lauren entered the insurance industry in January 2010, marking the outset of a profession defined by resilience and expertise. Following the seismic upheaval of the September 2010 Christchurch earthquake, Lauren's acumen and dedication earned her a pivotal role in forming the Earthquake Claims team, where she spearheaded efforts to navigate the intricate landscape of varied lines of business affected by the catastrophe.

Her versatility became evident as she transitioned to Broker claims, adeptly handling a diverse array of domestic, commercial, and rural claims, leaving an indelible mark at both IAG and Vero. In 2015, Lauren seized a new opportunity, joining McLarens in the Wellington Office as a Claims Technician. Here, she honed her skills further, simultaneously progressing to the role of Loss Adjuster and joining the Specialist Services team in 2021.

Lisa is an accomplished individual with a journey that began in the insurance industry in early 2015. Holding an ANZIIF Certificate in General Insurance and actively pursuing a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, Lisa embodies a dedication to continuous learning and development.

In 2022, Lisa joined the McLarens team as a Claims Technician, where she adeptly manages a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial claims. Her client-focused approach, coupled with meticulous attention to detail, ensures tailored and effective solutions for each unique case. 

Lisa brings over two decades of insurance industry experience to her role as Branch Manager in Rotorua, Tauranga, and Whakatane. Since joining McLarens in 2012 as a Loss Adjuster, Lisa has handled a diverse range of claims, including commercial and domestic property buildings and contents, general liability, and small contract works claims.

Her qualifications include a Certificate in Insurance / Diploma of Financial Services, Diploma in Loss Adjusting, and Diploma in Organisational Psychology. In her current role, Lisa oversees claims management and ensures quality assurance across her branches, leveraging her extensive expertise and educational background.

Lizzie began her career at a large insurer before joining McLarens in 2021 as a Claims Technician. Demonstrating exceptional growth and expertise, she transitioned into a Loss Adjusting role, where she continues to excel.

Logan entered the insurance industry after completing a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in management and finance, building on his background in construction.

Since joining McLarens in 2021 as part of the Specialist Services associate programme, with a focus on liability, Logan has grown his expertise and continued his professional development. He is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF, Affiliate with AICLA and through his ongoing education and hands-on experience, has cemented his role as a key contributor to the team.

Louis, hailing from South Africa, began his professional journey as a Loss Adjuster in 1993, following six years of experience in the building and construction industry as a site manager. Holding an NQF4INS qualification from his home country, Louis initiated a successful loss adjusting career specialising in commercial and domestic property losses before relocating to New Zealand in 2017.

Throughout his extensive career spanning over three decades, Louis has served as a Senior Loss Adjuster in both South Africa and New Zealand. With a focus on providing effective solutions and navigating complex claims scenarios, Louis continues to be a trusted professional in the industry, committed to delivering excellence in every aspect of his work.

Lyall has been a Loss Adjuster since 2000 specialising in Motor. He is a qualified Aircraft Engineer with experience working and managing retail sales for motorcycles and cars across the North Island.

Joining McLarens in 2004, Lyall has undertaken a number of large and complex motor and machinery losses including significant consequential loss component. He has worked on a number of rural building claims and Marine Hull repair and total loss claims where his hobby of owning boats and held skipper licence come in handy.

Maddie began her insurance career in 1998 as a fire and general loss adjuster. She gained qualifications with Diplomas in General Insurance and Loss Adjusting, ANZIIF (Snr Assoc) CIP, ACLA.

Progressing to senior adjuster, Maddie has extensive experience across contract works, marine hull and cargo, liability including mentoring large and complex domestic and commercial claims.

She has worked across natural disasters and earthquakes in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands.

With a background in sales and retention at Tower Insurance, Mahsheed has developed a nuanced understanding of policy responses, product knowledge, and customer service best practices. She transitioned to McLarens in 2022, joining our Customer Solutions Centre, where she specialised in claims involving the Natural Hazards Commission (formerly EQC).

Having undertaken specific TPA roles for two major insurers concerning Natural Hazard exposures, Mahsheed oversees claims, conducts thorough reviews for validation and settlement, and provides technical support to Loss Adjusters regarding coverage and settlement processes.

As a fluent speaker of Filipino, Mahsheed brings cultural competency and effective communication skills to her role. Her commitment to professional growth is evident through her participation in various trainings on General Insurance, assessing natural disaster damage, and the EQC Reporting Process.

Maritsa has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years after gaining a Bachelor of Commerce. She has extensive experience with operational processes, client service, risk mitigation and claims management.

Mark worked as an Aircraft Technician with the Royal New Zealand Air Force before joining Terra CAT (formerly Gough) as a heavy diesel technician advancing to the Service Manager.

Mark gained experience as a mobile plant fitter working for mining company, MacMahon Contractors, achieving a National Certificate in Automotive Heavy Engineering.

Mark specialise in Engineering and Machinery Breakdown, Service and Repair, Marine Hull and Heavy, Light and Mechanical Motor claims. 

Originally from South Africa, Mark began his career in the insurance industry 1998 gaining extensive experience and knowledge in domestic claims. After completing his degree in Construction Management, Mark commenced his career in sales and later moved into claims management.

Using his wealth of experience and expertise of the industry, he progressed into a Loss Adjusting position, focusing on commercial property, general adjusting and major residential loss.

Relocating to New Zealand in 2022, Mark joined McLarens specialising in commercial loss claims.

Mark has been a Loss Adjuster since 2007 and specialises in General Adjusting and Public Liability but also deals with motor and marine claims.

He has a broad experience in CAT response and was heavily involved in the Gisborne EQ in scoping and pricing building damage, as well as having been involved with settlement of Christchurch domestic claims.

Martin is an experienced Loss Adjuster with qualifications and training in electrical engineering and boat building. Following the completion of his qualifications and some time in the marine industry, Martin began his own boatyard. He was able to combine his technical electrical and building skills to oversee system development and design projects through to integration into vessels.

Martin has significant experience working with classification societies including the American Bureau of Shipping, DNV and Lloyds. His project management and business development experience also led him to work with military outfits, specifically design and installation of power systems into naval vessels. 

In 2008, Martin started working within the insurance industry providing expert analysis of marine and commercial claims whilst gaining experience across fire and NHC work.

As a pilot for over 30 years, Martin is passionate and has a deep understanding of general aviation in New Zealand. He holds fixed wing and helicopter licenses and is certified with a multi engine turbine and IFR ratings.

Matt was a builder for 25 years specialising in new architectural builds prior to becoming loss adjuster in 2011. He started in the insurance industry working with IAG prior to joining McLarens in 2018. He holds a Diploma of Loss Adjusting and ANZIIF (Senior Assoc.) CIP.

Matt began with McLarens as a Senior Loss Adjuster before becoming the team manager for the Palmerston North, Masterton & Wanganui branches. He predominantly works on commercial and domestic claims including large losses and has attended catastrophe events in New Zealand and Australia.

Matt has been a dedicated professional in the insurance industry since 2009. With extensive experience managing various domestic property, material damage, and motor vehicle claims, he has honed his skills in handling complex cases with precision and care.

In 2020, Matt joined McLarens, where he continues to apply his expertise to assist clients through their claims process, ensuring they receive the support and resolution they need.

Meci has been involved in the insurance industry for over 20 years, initially in the Pacific—mainly Fiji and Vanuatu—assisting Loss Adjusters with Material Damage losses for both commercial and domestic claims. During this time, she also gained experience with CAT events in Fiji and Vanuatu.

Meci joined McLarens in November 2011, starting in the Wanganui branch to assist with Christchurch Earthquake claims before moving to the Christchurch branch in December 2012. There, she worked as a Senior Claims Technician, providing technical support to Commercial and Domestic Loss Adjusters as well as the National Registration Team. As an Associate of ANZIIF, she brings strong technical expertise to her role.

In 2024, Meci moved to Hamilton, joining the bustling office there and bringing her wealth of experience to the team.

Melissa entered the insurance industry and joined McLarens in 2011, embarking on a journey as a Claims Technician. Throughout her tenure, she has provided invaluable assistance in numerous claims and events, showcasing her versatility and dedication.

With experience in bloodstock, catastrophe, earthquake, food and beverage, and major loss residential claims, Melissa brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Her reliability, diligence, and trustworthiness make her a dependable asset within the team.

Michael brings a decade of experience in the construction and insurance industries to his role at McLarens. With a Diploma in Quantity Surveying under his belt, he embarked on a journey that seamlessly integrated his expertise in both fields.

Before joining McLarens and venturing into Loss Adjusting, Michael spent five years in various insurance roles, where he gained valuable insights into claims management and insurance processes. Concurrently, he dedicated four years to working in estimating roles, honing his skills in cost estimation and project management while completing his qualification in Quantity Surveying.

Michael boasts over a decade of comprehensive experience within the building and construction industry, encompassing hands-on expertise, site supervision, building inspections, and adept communication with diverse stakeholders integral to project execution. His professional journey includes ownership and operation of both a building enterprise and a peanut butter manufacturing venture, demonstrating his multifaceted entrepreneurial acumen. In 2022, Michael transitioned his expertise to McLarens, assuming the role of Loss Adjuster.

Mike is a professional with over a decade of experience working with the Earthquake Commission (EQC), holding various team member, leadership, and specialist positions. His extensive career spans 25 years in residential and commercial construction and project management, where he has demonstrated exceptional skill as an owner/operator. Mike's commitment to the industry is evident through his employment and management of a full labour staff, along with his dedication to providing regular apprenticeship training opportunities.

From 2009 to 2021, Mike played a pivotal role as a contractor for the EQC, mobilising across multiple hubs of the Project Managed Offices (PMO). His coordination with diverse professionals, including engineers, geo-techs, quantity surveyors, and contractor supervisors, has been instrumental in assessing earthquake-damaged properties and land damage. Mike has consistently ensured that repair strategies align with the New Zealand Building Acts and Codes of Compliance, the Earthquake Act, and local government policies.

Mike holds a Diploma in Loss Adjusting and a Advanced Trade Certified in Carpentry. His extensive experience includes serving as an event responder and estimator for significant events, such as the Invercargill event in 2009 and the Canterbury event in September 2010. As an Estimator Pod Leader, Mike managed and trained new arrivals for field teams. His expertise in handling complex claims has made him a reliable advocate for homeowners, ensuring accurate finalisation with insurers.

As a Technical Specialist, Mike excels in reporting statutory repair strategies and costings, managing repair works in high-stress environments, and liaising with insurers for claims exceeding EQC liability. His technical input is crucial for apportionment reviews, determining liability, and distributing costs of previous repairs.

Mike spent 12.5 years as a Constable with the New Zealand Police before joining McLarens in October 2020 as a Loss Adjuster. His experience conducting police investigations is an asset when reviewing any claim. Mike is currently studying for his Diploma in Loss Adjusting.

Nick brings over thirty years of claims experience in the insurance industry, encompassing a wide range of roles. His extensive expertise includes claims management, team leadership, technical claims, general commercial and consumer loss adjusting, and building warranty claims. Throughout his career, Nick has consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism and dedication to delivering outstanding service.

Since joining the McLarens Specialist Services team in 2021, Nick has continued to excel in his field, leveraging his vast experience to enhance the company's claims operations. His depth of knowledge and practical experience is complemented by his Certificate of Insurance, further solidifying his credentials in the field.

Nick has worked in several different sectors of the construction industry for 38 years and brings a wealth of knowledge gained over this time to his role as a Loss Adjuster for McLarens.

Having completed his Diploma in Construction in 2022, he is currently studying toward a Diploma in Loss Adjusting.

Nicki joined McLarens in 2022, bringing with her over two decades of experience in magazine publishing. Specialising in domestic property, contamination, and contents claims, Nicki's background in publication project management, content management, and sales administration management equips her with a keen eye for detail and organisation.

Her ability to identify opportunities and generate innovative ideas translates seamlessly into handling insurance claims, where attention to detail and creative problem-solving are paramount. With a knack for identifying opportunities and a track record of successful project management, Nicki ensures that each claim is handled with precision, efficiency, and compassion.

Paul has been a Loss Adjuster since 1982 and worked for 15 years in the Motor Vehicle Repair industry.

He holds an Advanced Trade Certificate in Automotive Engineering and specialises in Light, Heavy and Mechanical Motor, Service and Repair, Engineering and Machinery Breakdown, Agriculture and Marine Hull.

With a career spanning over three decades, Paul has been a stalwart in the insurance industry since 1991. His journey began with a solid foundation, spending a decade in the Motor Vehicle Repair industry, where he honed his skills and gained invaluable insights.

Armed with a Certificate in Insurance and an Advanced Trade Certificate in Panel Beating, Paul brings a unique blend of expertise to his role as a Loss Adjuster. His specialisation extends across various domains including Heavy Motor, Contract Works, Commercial Property, Marine Hull, and Public Liability.

Since April 1995, Paul has been an integral part of the McLarens team, where he continues to excel in his role. His depth of experience, coupled with his unwavering commitment to delivering optimal outcomes, positions him as a trusted advisor in the realm of insurance.

Paula brings over three decades of invaluable experience to the Insurance industry, having embarked on her journey in 1986. Joining the esteemed team at McLarens in 2002, Paula has established herself as a Senior Loss Adjuster, renowned for her adept handling of large and intricate losses.

With a specialisation in Liability, Contract Works, and income protection claims, Paula's expertise shines through in her meticulous approach to each case. Pauline has been a claims handler since 2000 with a focus on motor. She has extensive experience across all motor claim types including the management of claims for company truck fleets based in Australia and New Zealand.

Pauline specialises in Light and Heavy Motor, Service and Repair and Agriculture.

Peter is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, a Senior Associate of ANZIIF, and an Associate member of AICLA. He began his career in the insurance industry in 1999, bringing with him trade qualifications in Advanced Trade Coachbuilding and Advanced Trade Panel Beating.

Starting as an MV Assessor, Peter transitioned into domestic and commercial material damage loss adjusting before expanding his expertise into Machinery Breakdown, Electrical Breakdown, and Service & Repair claims. His passion for mechanics and problem-solving led him to a career in loss adjusting, where he applies his technical curiosity to helping clients navigate the complexities of machinery and electrical breakdowns. His extensive experience has seen him manage complex claims across a range of industries, providing valuable technical insight into machinery and electrical systems

Peter brings over 20 years of hands-on experience in the Motor/Engineering business, having worked as a Loss Adjuster since 1996 with a focus on motor claims. His career began with five years as an A Grade Automotive Technician, followed by extensive experience working on heavy diesel and diesel electrical equipment at NZR. There, he developed expertise in hydraulic systems, compressors, and motors. Peter is qualified as a Diesel/Electrical Fitter and is proficient in working on electrical systems up to 25,000 volts AC, including inverters, generators, compressors, pumps, and DC electrical components. 

In addition to his technical background, Peter holds an Advanced Trade Certificate in Automotive Engineering and is a Certified Diesel/Electrical Engineer. He specialises in Light, Heavy and Mechanical Motor, Service and Repair, Engineering and Machinery Breakdown, Agriculture, and Marine Hull.

Peter is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with over 30 years' loss adjusting experience in both New Zealand and Australia, following underwriting roles in in his early career.

He specialises in Catastrophe Response, Commercial Property, Contract Works, Major Loss, and Liability claims. He advises on issues arising from losses involving Product Recall, Public and Products Liability, Construction Liabilities, Professional Indemnity, and Major Property Damage, as well as providing Litigation Support for these claims.

Peter has adjusted claims in New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, American Samoa, Australia and England. Peter also has significant experience in catastrophe response management, having held team leadership and management roles for events in New Zealand and across the Pacific Islands.

In adjusting large and complex claims, Peter identifies the key issues and hurdles that may arise and then strategises and implements an appropriate plan to handle the claim.

Peter's focus is on communicating clearly to keep all parties aware of progress and managing expectations through each phase of the loss adjusting process, through to successful resolution.

Phil is a highly experienced Loss Adjuster with a career spanning over two decades. With his expertise and dedication to his craft, Phil has established himself as a trusted professional in the insurance industry.

Since 1997, Phil has been actively involved in loss adjustment, applying his extensive knowledge and skills to assess and manage various types of claims. His commitment to professional development is evident through his Associate membership with the Australian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters, a testament to his ongoing pursuit of excellence in his field.

Phil's educational background complements his practical experience in loss adjustment. He holds an Advanced Trade Certificate in Fitting, Turning, and Machining, showcasing his technical acumen and understanding of mechanical systems. In addition, Phil also possesses a NZ Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical), further enhancing his expertise in the field.

Throughout his career, Phil has specialized in several key areas, including Commercial Property, Residential Major Loss, Public Liability, Engineering and Machinery Breakdown, and Service and Repair. His diverse skill set allows him to effectively handle a wide range of claims, providing invaluable support to both individuals and businesses.

Phil started his career in the insurance industry following the completion of his Bachelor of Science degree. As a Loss Adjuster, Phil has focused on domestic claims covering a variety of losses and circumstances including CAT events as the Kaikoura earthquakes and Edgecumbe and Westport floods.

Working across single-item losses to larger losses including mid-severity house fires, CAT events, Phil has successfully assessed, negotiated and settled hundreds of claims and collaborated with every manner of clients, suppliers, service providers and stakeholders.

Ratna has over 10 years experience in the insurance industry including underwriting, desk assessment and management of commercial and domestic claims. Ratna holds various industry qualifications and is a Senior Associate CIP with ANZIIF.

Ratna's strength is creating an efficient and effective process for all parties involved in a claim. Providing support to the customer through each phase of the claim process through to successful resolution.

Ray has extensive experience in the insurance industry, particularly in loss adjusting. From 2010 to 2016, he worked as a Loss Adjuster for EQC, focusing on assessing and costing earthquake repairs in EQR Hubs and resolving disputes in EQC claims.

In 2017 and 2018, Ray served as a Loss Adjuster for FMG, processing EQC claims for the Kaikoura earthquake event. Since 2020, he has been with McLarens, adjusting earthquake claims in Canterbury and the West Coast, as well as assessing landslip and flood EQC claims in Nelson and Auckland.

Throughout his career, Ray has worked on multiple high-value EQC claims exceeding $500,000. His academic background includes a BSc in Physics and Chemistry and a Diploma in Teaching, which contribute to his analytical and communication skills in the field.

Rebecca embarked on her insurance career in 2015, initiating her professional journey at a major insurance firm in sales. Within a year, she seamlessly transitioned to the Loss Adjusting team, assuming the role of a consultant.

Currently pursuing a Diploma in Loss Adjusting through ANZIIF, Rebecca's commitment to professional growth became the catalyst for her subsequent career move.

In 2023, she joined McLarens as a Loss Adjuster, bringing with her a wealth of experience, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service to everyone she collaborates with.

Richard has a wide insurance knowledge having worked in senior claim management, underwriting and branch management roles with a major insurer for seven years prior to joining McLarens as a Loss Adjuster in 2000.

At McLarens, Richard developed into a Specialist Loss Adjuster, with a specific focus on complex and high value Material Damage, Liability and Contract Works claims. He has handled a number of complex and high value claims throughout New Zealand as well as catastrophe events across Australia. Richard was heavily involved in major loss claims that resulted from the Canterbury and Kaikoura earthquakes.

Richard is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and was promoted to the position of Executive General Adjuster within the Specialist Services team in 2018.

Richard has over 22 years experience working within the automotive industry including Japanese and German vehicle dealerships.

He obtained a National Certificate in Automotive Engineering and Business (First Line Management) and was accredited NZTA WOF Inspector carrying out safety inspections on light motor vehicles and trailers.

Robert has been a Loss Adjuster since 2005, prior to this he worked for 27 years in the Building industry, Marine Hull Repair and in Building Compliance.

He holds an Advanced Trade Certificate (Building) and specialises in small and large Domestic losses, Commercial Losses and Marine Hull.

Robyn joined McLarens in 1996 and assists the loss adjusters in the branch with their domestic and commercial material damage claims.

With the Insurance industry since 1960, Russell has been a Loss Adjuster since 1969. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.

Russell specialises in Commercial Major Loss, Public and Products Liability, Litigation Support, Contract Works, Marine. He provides technical expertise and guidance to staff by providing Peer Reviews and Quality Assurance in these disciplines.

Scott entered the insurance industry with McLarens in 2011, bringing prior experience in account management. He specialises in property adjustments encompassing both domestic and commercial areas. For six years, Scott contributed his expertise to IAG's Disaster Recovery Unit, focusing on significant domestic losses resulting from the Christchurch earthquakes.

In 2021, Scott advanced to the role of Team Manager, overseeing the Christchurch and Timaru teams, where he applies his extensive experience and leadership to manage operations effectively.

Shani has been a dedicated member of McLarens since 1987, bringing decades of experience and commitment to her role. In 2011, she transitioned to the position of Claims Technician, where she continues to excel.

In her current role, Shani collaborates closely with motor loss adjusters, providing crucial support in managing claims information, preparing detailed reports, and maintaining clear and effective communication with insurers, repairers, and clients. Her extensive knowledge and steadfast dedication make her an invaluable asset to the McLarens team, ensuring smooth and efficient claims processing and exemplary service for all stakeholders.

Shavaughn entered the insurance industry in 2006 as a Claims Technician and has since demonstrated a commitment to her professional development. With a Certificate in General Insurance, she joined McLarens in 2018, initially working in the Customer Solutions Centre. Progressing steadily, Shavaughn transitioned to the role of Loss Adjuster in 2020, where her experience and expertise continues to grow.

Joining the company in 2017, Shreya began in an administrative role, demonstrating her strong work ethic and dedication to excellence. In 2018, Shreya's exceptional performance and enthusiasm for the industry led her to transition into the role of Claims Technician.

Driven by her passion for learning and professional development, Shreya has consistently pursued higher education to expand her knowledge and expertise. She holds Diplomas in Accounting and Business, which have provided her with a solid foundation in financial management and strategic decision-making. Steve's tenure in the insurance industry dates back to 1990, with a focused transition to Loss Adjustment in 1993. Throughout his career, he he furthered his knowledge base by attending I-CAR collision repair courses, enhancing his proficiency in various domains.

Steve specialises in a wide array of areas including Light and Mechanical Motor, Marine Transit, Major Loss (Commercial and Residential), Service and Repair, Contract Works, and Public Liability. His extensive experience and specialised knowledge make him a valuable asset in navigating diverse insurance scenarios with precision and efficacy.

Steve's career journey began with training in the Royal New Zealand Air Force as an Aeronautical Electroplater, followed by roles in car sales upon leaving the Air Force. He transitioned into selling various insurance and mortgage products, gaining a comprehensive understanding of individual insurance policies and mortgage mechanisms.

Subsequently, Steve served as an account manager for a New Zealand-owned finance company, where he promoted funding and insurance products to car dealers. Following the earthquakes, he project-managed the replacement of a local earthquake-damaged artificial hockey surface and hockey and cricket pavilion at Sydenham Park.

In 2013, Steve was employed to conduct EQC land damage assessments for properties in Canterbury. He later joined the claims disputes team before venturing into entrepreneurship by opening a food franchise business, which unfortunately closed due to the COVID pandemic.

Steve joined McLarens in 2021, specialising in EQC-related land and building damage assessments. He is an EQC accredited loss adjuster, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to his role.

With the insurance industry since 2000, Stuart has been a Loss Adjuster since 2005. He is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and is a Chartered Loss Adjuster. Stuart holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration and specialises in Business Interruption and Commercial Property (including Stock). 

Stuart has handled business as usual claims across New Zealand and catastrophe claims throughout New Zealand and Australia for a range of industries including; food and beverage, hospitality, retail and professional services.

Suzanne is a Chartered Accountant and Financial Loss Specialist with over 20 years as a Chartered Accountant in public practice. She specialises in Financial Lines losses including Business Interruption, Contingency, Fidelity Guarantee, and Stock Reconciliation, as well as providing Litigation Support advice and evidence.

Suzanne has gained experience in catastrophe response operations in the wake of the Canterbury Earthquake events and more, latterly, the catastrophe events across the North Island in 2023. She has significant experience in the Financial Services industry, especially in providing consequential loss calculations to support litigation proceedings.

Suzie started in the insurance industry in 2008 working with a large insurer in their liability team gaining experience in Public Liability claims. She moved to work across both Commercial and Domestic clients specialising in Fire and General claims before moving into a number of broking roles in Auckland and Dunedin.

Suzie holds a Master of Science from the University of Otago and Master of Philosophy in Science from AUT University.

Suzie joined McLarens in early 2021 as a Domestic Loss Adjuster with the Auckland team before joining the Specialist Services team in May 2022 with a focus on Liability.

Tania embarked on her insurance career in 2009 as a Claims Consultant with AMI. In 2017, she transitioned to Rothbury Insurance Brokers as a Claims Advisor. Throughout her tenure, Tania has adeptly managed various domestic property, material damage, and motor vehicle claims, showcasing her expertise and dedication to client satisfaction.

In 2022, Tania joined McLarens as a Loss Adjuster in Invercargill, covering the Southland area. She is currently studying towards a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, further enhancing her skills and knowledge in the field.

Tania commenced her insurance career with McLarens in 2002, she is an Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and specialises in Property (Building and Contents) losses.

Te Rina joined McLarens in 2017 after three years of working as a Loss Adjuster Support for IAG. She brings a wealth of experience in handling both domestic and commercial material damage losses. Te Rina is particularly skilled in managing commercial property catastrophe claims and earthquake-related damages

With the insurance industry since 1986, Tim has been a Loss Adjuster since 2004. He was an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and is a Chartered Loss Adjuster.

He is an Associate Member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters, a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a Certified Insurance Professional (CIP)

Tim was the team manager of the Napier, Gisborne, Rotorua and Taupo branches from 2018 before his promotion to the role of Regional Manager - Northern in August 2022.

Tina has worked within the insurance industry since 2001, embarking on a journey marked by dedication, expertise, and leadership. Starting as a Motor Claims Resolution and Recovery Manager, she swiftly became adept in managing both Property and Motor claims functions. Her tenure at Suncorp NZ, where she oversaw the end-to-end Motor claims function, Debt Recovery, and Off-Shore Partnering, further solidified her reputation as a capable and dynamic leader.

As a trained lean process coach, Tina brings a systematic approach to improving efficiency and effectiveness within her teams. Her focus on measuring performance against industry benchmarks ensures continuous improvement and accountability.

Tina's transition to McLarens in 2019 as TPA and National Motor Business Manager, based in Auckland, underscores her ability to take on challenging roles and drive results. Her proven track record of maintaining an outstanding team culture based on accountability and performance speaks volumes about her leadership style.

In May 2024, Tina made a significant career move, relocating to Christchurch to take up the mantle of Regional Manager - Southern, overseeing all offices in the South Island and Lower North Island. This transition marks a significant milestone in her career journey, representing a new chapter born from her extensive experience and effective leadership.

With six years of experience in the insurance industry, including roles at AMI as an insurance consultant and at IAG claims major events team & EQC team, Tony joined McLarens in 2023.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration and is EQC accredited to handle and specialise in Natural Hazard claims.

Trina is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with over two decades of experience in the insurance industry. Her journey began in 1999, leading her through various roles that have shaped her into a respected expert. Transitioning from a large insurer to a boutique broking house in 2007, Trina's client-focused approach thrived as she served both nationwide commercial clients and domestic customers.

In 2011, she stepped into the realm of loss adjustment, a crucial move just before the Canterbury Earthquake struck. This experience propelled her expertise to new heights as she assisted individuals and businesses during a time of crisis. Joining McLarens in 2018 as the Wellington Branch Manager, Trina's specialisation in Body Corporates and heritage buildings became an invaluable asset in handling complex claims arising from catastrophic events in New Zealand and Australia.

Trina's dedication to her field is evident through her roles as a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and committee member of AICLA's NZ Division. In 2023, she assumed the role of National Catastrophe Event Coordinator, utilising her skills and compassion to orchestrate nationwide efforts to support those affected by severe weather events. Trina's journey showcases her unwavering commitment to helping individuals and communities navigate challenging times with expertise and care.

Trudy has worked in the New Zealand insurance industry since 1986, gaining experience in underwriting, team leadership, and general claims.

She joined McLarens in 2004 and has since specialised in end-to-end claims management.

In 2025, Trudy relocated to Christchurch to take on the role of Customer Solutions Team Manager. With over 20 years at McLarens and extensive collaboration with Loss Adjusters, she brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to the team.

Vanessa began her career at McLarens in 2021 as a Claims Technician before advancing to the role of Loss Adjuster. She has recently embarked on earning her Diploma of Loss Adjusting. Vanessa's progression and dedication reflect her commitment to delivering exceptional service and expertise in claims management.

With a career spanning over two decades in the insurance industry, Vanessa has established herself as a highly experienced and skilled professional. She began her journey in the industry in 1999, and by 2007, she had honed her expertise to become a Loss Adjuster.

Vanessa has played a pivotal role in managing catastrophe events in both New Zealand and Australia. Notably, she worked extensively on residential and commercial claims arising from the Christchurch earthquakes from 2010 to 2018, demonstrating her ability to handle complex and high-stakes situations with precision and care.

Vickie was brought on board with McLarens as the company scaled up to respond to the CAT events that unfolded across NZ in early 2023. She assisted by triaging and serving as a case contact to support the adjusters' workload.

Due to her exceptional performance, Vickie was brought on full-time in the TPA space to manage Ministry of Education contents claims. She is also part of the Customer Solutions Centre, specialising in contents claims. Vickie's dedication and expertise make her a valuable asset to the McLarens team.

Wendy brings extensive experience to the insurance industry, having worked in various roles across Australia and New Zealand, including a 12-year tenure with Dawsons Insurance Brokers. Since joining McLarens in 2005, she has applied her expertise from numerous claim management positions to specialise in house and contents claims. Throughout his career, William has honed his skills in handling building claims for both residential and commercial properties.

His educational background includes an N5 Certificate in Civil Engineering and an N4 Certificate in Civil Engineering. Additionally, he completed the 2012 Regulatory Examination One with the Financial Planning Institute of South Africa and undertook courses in sales & marketing, as well as Multiplex Personal Lines & Multimark Commercial Lines with Santam.

William excels in quantifying structural claim damage, ensuring accurate assessments and settlements.

Since 2022, Winnie has been actively involved in various aspects of insurance, specialising in claims management and client services.

Winnie's journey in the insurance sector began at an authorised repairer, where she worked diligently in the claims department. This initial role allowed Winnie to develop a strong foundation in understanding the intricacies of insurance claims processes.

Building upon her skills and knowledge, Winnie progressed to a prominent position at a brokerage, where she assumed the responsibility of managing insurance claims for a large telecommunications company. In this capacity, Winnie demonstrated exceptional organisational abilities and a keen eye for detail, ensuring the smooth processing of claims and delivering optimal outcomes for clients.

Additionally, Winnie also excelled in claim lodgment and premium payment management for two major insurers. During her tenure, Winnie efficiently facilitated the transfer of insurance claims to the respective insurers while also overseeing critical tasks such as premium payments and database management.
