Aaron has been a Loss Adjuster with McLarens since 1997 and holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and Associate of the New Zealand Insurance Law Association.
During his over 20 years in the Loss Adjusting industry, he has gained significant experience with all claim types.
Since 2010 Aaron, has focused on commercial earthquake claims (both Material Damage and Business Interruption), while also dealing with larger and complex claims in the wider Wellington, Manawatu and Hawkes Bay areas.
Alex begun her career in general insurance 2016 with Youi Insurance after graduating from AUT University with a Bachelor of Arts major Events Management, minor Social Sciences.
She began her insurance career in sales and moved to the claims department shortly after specializing in managing motor claims from end to end.
Alvin joined McLarens in July 2013 after 16 years working for Loss Adjusters and Insurance claims based companies in the UK. Alvin specialises in Material Damage and has adjusted losses across a wide range of commercial and domestic claims.
An insurance industry professional with over 30 years’ experience, Andrew is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and a Fellow of AICLA.
Andrew is an Executive General Adjuster with the Specialist Services Team responsible for complex and major losses anywhere in New Zealand. With a solution oriented and collaborative approach, he leads teams to effectively manage and settle claims.
Andrew specialises in Major Loss – Commercial, Manufacturing & Production, Shopping Centre Losses, Earthquake, Public/Product Liability and Construction Risk.
Anita has been with the Insurance industry since 2004, joining the McLarens team as a Claims Technician in 2017. Based in Rotorua, Anita provides technical support to the loss adjusters in the Rotorua/Taupo region and the wider McLarens network.
Ashley started in the insurance industry in 2018, as a claims consultant across various lines of business. Taking a keen interest in complex claims specifically in the Commercial space, Ashley gained experience in areas relating to Retail, Food & Beverage, Machinery Breakdown and Catastrophe.
Fluent in Shona and Ndbele, Ashley joined McLarens in 2022 as a Loss Adjuster in the Wellington branch.
Averil has been a Claims Technician since 2006 at McLarens with experience in the industry over CAT events in Perth and Christchurch.
With the Insurance Industry since 1970, Bill has been a loss adjuster since 1990. He is an Affiliate of the Australian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.
Bill specialises in large commercial, domestic and rural property claims. He has been involved in loss adjusting claim management with expertise in catastrophe disaster events.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Studies, majoring in Finance in 2012 Braden joined McLarens. Braden joined the Forensic Accounting team gaining his ANZIIF Diploma of Loss Adjusting.
He specialises in Business Interruption, Advanced Loss of Profits and Stock, Liability Quantification and complex major losses.
Carina has been involed in the insurance industry since 1987 starting in South Africa. She moved and joined McLarens in August 2012 where her expereince as a Claims Technician has grown.
Chelsea has been at McLarens since 2018 with previous industry experience working with State, NZI brokers and as an AON account manager.
Chloe has been a Loss Adjuster with McLarens since 2009 starting in our Auckland branch before moving to Christchurch to spend 3 years assessing earthquake claims.
Chloe moved into a senior role with the company moving to Whangarei where she manages the Northland region.
Claire has been with the Insurance industry since 2003 where she has worked in sales, underwriting and claims. She began her career as a Loss Adjuster with McLarens in 2012 and prior to this worked as a property manager.
Danie joined McLarens in 2008 following 17 years with multi-national adjusting firms in South Africa and New Zealand. He is highly experienced in dealing with large losses and has built a solid reputation for progressing complex claims through their most challenging stages.
During the Canterbury Earthquakes of 2010-2011, Danie was the lead adjuster on a large volume of major earthquake claims and led a team handling over 400 cases, entailing a complex range of Material Damage and Business Interruption issues due to incurring damage from multiple events.
Danie has managed large and complex losses in South Africa, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands using his skills to streamline claims through balancing sound technical skills with a commercially sensible and pragmatic approach.
Dave has been in the insurance industry since 1993 and is a Chartered Loss Adjuster. He is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and an Associate and New Zealand Division Secretary of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.
Specialising in Major Loss (Commercial & Residential), Liability, Contract Works, he has also attended catastrophe events throughout New Zealand, Australia and Fiji.
With the Insurance industry since 1987, David progressed to regional claims manager for a leading underwriter for 10 years before joining McLarens.
David specialises in large material damage, liability and contract works claims and is an Allied member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
David has experience in various CAT scenarios and has previously co-ordinated a CAT response on behalf of a lead Insurer. He was also involved in scoping, pricing and reinstating EQ damaged homes in Christchurch. In addition to this David has been involved in external deployments, including the assessment of damaged properties following the 2016 Sydney hail storms.
David is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with over 30 year’s loss adjusting experience specialising in Material Damage, Liability and Contract Works. Commencing his career with McLarens after completing NZCE (Civil Engineering) stage 1, David has adjusted many complex and high value losses.
He is an Associate member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters, a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, a Certified Insurance Professional and member of the New Zealand Insurance Law Association.
David has been recognised for his technical and case management skills as technical team lead during and following the Canterbury earthquake. He provides training and advice to staff around New Zealand and industry groups.
Originally starting his working career with a large insurer, Dean soon moved into Loss Adjusting becoming Chartered in 2007 and honing his technical expertise through many of New Zealand's large losses. He ultimately moved into executive roles from 2010, and obtained his MBA through the University of Auckland.
Dean has a passion for his team and their development, with an equally important clear focus on the customer, innovation and evolving industry dynamics. Being a 30 year veteran of the industry, he has witnessed and relishes being part of an industry going through such significant fast paced change, a challenge faced by individuals and businesses alike.
Debbie has been involved in the insurance industry for over 20 years and has significant experience in the adjustment of material damage losses, both of a commercial and domestic nature up to $500,000.00.
She holds a Diploma in Loss Adjusting and currently provides teaching assistance to a number of Loss Adjusters in the Napier branch and throughout the wider network.
Dennis has worked in the insurance industry since 2012 and he has over 30 years of management experience with a variety of organisations in New Zealand and overseas.
He has business qualifications through Massey University and a background in human resource and telecommunication management.
With the insurance industry since 2011, Diana plays a pivotal role in developing policy and procedure to support our People and the way they operate. In addition, she acts as a conduit between the business units to ensure continued process adherence and improvement.
Diana has a BA in Political Science and History and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business and Administration. Diana started working at McLarens in 2011 after returning to New Zealand from the United Kingdom.
Dwayne has over 20 years expereince as a Loss Adjuster and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Post Graduate Diploma of Commerce, ANZIFF Diploma and is working towards his Dipolma in Loss Adjusting.
Dylan has been a Loss Adjuster since 2011 building strong relationships with key insurers and developed a wide range of skills and knowledge in General Adjusting.
With a background in the building industry, Dylan brings an understanding of building construction and repair methodology to specialise in commercial loss, contract works and natural disaster claims.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Edmund started in the insurance industry in 2011 working with a large insurer. Edmund specialises in earthquake/CAT claims working across the Christchurch and Kaikoura events before moving to work exclusively on EQC claims.
Edmund joined McLarens in 2020 initially as TPA for EQC claims before progressing to Loss Adjuster.
Emma started with McLarens in April 2017 starting off in Administration before progressing into claim management in April 2018.
She has previous experience with ACC assisting Case Managers on claims and a number of years within the hospitality industry as a trained chef.
Erika first joined the Insurance Industry in 2012 working as a claims technician for McLarens.
Erika has been a Loss Adjuster since 2014 and holds a Certificate in General Insurance and is currently completing a diploma in Loss Adjusting.
She is an Associate Member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. Erika specialises in small and large Residential Property and contents claims.
Erika has been involved with catastrophic events throughout the region along with managing the Auckland team.
Esther started in the insurance industry in 2001 working at State Insurance as a Claims Adviser before moving to a Quality Analyst for Broker Personal Lines Underwriting in 2003.
Esther holds a Diploma in Loss Adjusting as she moved to a Loss Adjuster role in 2004 with IAG. She started with McLarens in 2012 specialising in Contract Works, Public Liability and General Adjusting.
Fraser started in the insurance industry in 1992 working with AMI Insurance in a number of roles including underwriting Motor, Fire, General, Boat and Farm insurance. He was a Branch Manager from 2007 till his departure in 2016.
Moving on from AMI, Fraser has worked in senior roles at Avis, ACC and Asset Managers before joining McLarens in 2020.
Geoff has been in the insurance industry since 1982 and a Loss Adjuster since 2011. He is experienced in domestic and light commercial claims and has been involved with catastrophe claims in New Zealand and Australia.
Geoff is a Certified Financial Planner who holds Diplomas in Financial Planning, Business Management, ChFC, CLU, CIP and ANZIIF (Senior Associate).
Geoff has been a Loss Adjuster since 2007. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Diploma for Graduates in English.
Geoff commenced his career in the Insurance Industry with McLarens in 2006.
He undertakes a range of property adjustments which has included a number of large value commercial losses relating to the Christchurch earthquake, various assignments with the Earthquake Commission and general property claims.
With the Insurance industry since 1989, Gillian has been a Loss Adjuster since 2003. Gillian is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and specialises in Commercial Property and Fidelity claims.
Gioia has over 40 years’ experience in the insurance industry starting in claims and underwriting before moving to loss adjusting. She became a Loss Adjuster in 1996 and has gained significant experience with all claim types including numerous CAT events in New Zealand and Australia.
Gioia specialises in Building Warranty, Commercial Property, Contract Works, Engineering and Machinery Breakdown, Public Liability and Major Loss – Residential.
Graeme has 20 years of experience within the insurance industry, spanning across sales, claims, recoveries, IT and adjusting. Graeme is familiar with claims across all Insurance lines and specialises in commercial property, residential major loss, light motor and marine hull.
Graeme has experience in the construction industry, as he worked for two major New Zealand Building Supply Merchants, as Retail and Yard Manager, before moving to a Project Estimations role. This provided Graeme with a hands-on knowledge of Building practices and the materials used in the construction industry.
Being involved in Information Technology since 1978, Graham has worked in a variety of verticals including Broadcasting, Retail and IT Services before joining McLarens in 2015.
Graham has previously had roles in Infrastruture Management, Architecture and Strategy Planning as well as Operational Support and general IT Management.
Greg has been in the Insurance industry since 1979 and has been a Loss Adjuster since 2011. His qualifications include ANZIIF (Snr Assoc), CIP, ACLA
Prior to joining McLarens, Greg held a commercial Broker role which included management of large corporate accounts including within the Dairy and Local Government Sectors.
Greg joined the McLarens team as a commercial Loss Adjuster and has adjusted a large number of losses including a significant number of multi-million dollar losses resulting from the Christchurch earthquake. He has been involved in a number of projects including managing building reinstatements to a completion, multi-unit/multi-insurer building sites and cash settlement negotiations. He has handled a significant number of large fire losses and been involved in a number of weather events, both in New Zealand and Australia.
Hayley started with McLarens in 2013 and spent 2 years working with a specialised team following the Kaikoura earthquake. She has moved to the Customer Solution Centre which services services all areas of New Zealand managing claims from start to finish, along side our Loss Adjuster teams.
Helen joined McLarens in 2011 as a Claims Technician gaining experience across a variety of Domestic and Commercial claims.
In September 2020, Helen was promoted to the role of Team Manager of the Hamilton branch.
With the Insurance industry since 2005, Holly has been a Loss Adjuster since 2009. She is Senior Associate member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and specialises in Commercial Property, Commercial Major Loss and Public Liability.
Holly became a Team Manager in 2021, managing the Nelson, Greymouth and Christchurch teams.
Ian has previously held senior financial roles in Europe and New Zealand, with his most recent CFO role being NZME in Auckland.Ian has worked with our Forensic Accounting Services team and brings a wealth of experience in Corporate Finance into the Finance Director role.
Jacque has been with McLarens since 2010 providing claims tech support. Since 2015 she has been managing the Ministry of Education Risk Management Scheme for school contents claims whilst continuing to providing claims tech support for Loss Adjusters within the wider team.
James has worked in financial and management positions since 1985 moving to work as a Loss Adjuster in 2013. He is an Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
As a loss adjuster, he specialises in Agriculture, Commercial Property, Commercial Loss and Business Interruption.
Janene is a property, liability and financial loss specialist who started in the industry in 1996. Throughout her career, Janene has managed claims across a wide range of industries including food products, dairy, meat, seafood, horticulture, wine and beverage, and chemical processing.
She has adjusted claims all across New Zealand as well as claims originating from New Zealand products or services which have been supplied to countries throughout Australasia, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. She provides Litigation Support and advice on a range of maters such as Business Interruption, Fidelity, Stock Reconciliation, Product Recall and Contamination.
In addition to processing and manufacturing losses, Janene has adjusted major property and financial claims for a range of other industries throughout New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific Islands such as pulp and paper, energy, hospitality and tourism, healthcare, retail and professional services.
During the Canterbury earthquakes, Janene was the lead on more than 150 claims whilst managing a team of financial loss specialists on over 300 complex claims due to incurring damage from multiple events.
Janene is studying towards a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Commercial Law and Cost Accounting and holds a Diploma of Financial Services and is an ANZIIF (Senior Assoc) CIP.
Janine joined the insurance industry in 2001 and has comprehensive experience in managing large revenue client portfolios, onboarding new business acquisitions and overseeing marketing and communications functions.
Prior to joining McLarens, Janine worked in the Life and Health, Loss Adjusting and Reinsurance sectors in New Zealand as well as South Africa and the UK.
Janine is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
Jay has a background in finance and business development management working in various roles across the UK before moving into insurance in 2019. He worked with the Sydney based, IAG Catastrophe team and progressed to work in the High Impact claims team.
Jay moved to New Zealand in 2020 working with Allianz in travel insurance before moving to join McLarens in July 2020 as a Claims Technician. He was promoted to the role of Senior Motor Claims Handler in April 2021 where he assists in the management of the McLarens Motor team across New Zealand.
Jay moved to his new role of Customer Solutions Team Manager in November 2021, leading a team focusing predominantly on contents losses.
Jayson has a background in carpentry completing a trade qualification before achieving honours in Building Science. Starting in the insurance industry in 1999, Jayson has worked in a variety of insurance claims roles in assessing, management and loss adjusting, both direct for insurer and for external adjusting companies.
Jayson has experience working on numerous catastrophe and earthquake events including both the Canterbury and Kaikoura recovery projects. He joined McLarens in August 2020, progressing to a Loss Adjuster Team Manager for Auckland in September 2021.
Jennifer has worked in both the UK and New Zealand insurance industries since 2012, primarily in Claim Handling and Claim Management roles, as well as some time spent in Sales and Service.
She has experience in end to end case management and enjoys facilitating the progress of claims through to prompt resolution. She has worked within Quality Assurance within previous roles and has been an active member of many groups outside of her job commitments such as Wellbeing Committee, Enterprise Change Network, GEM Committee and Social Clubs.
Jennifer has worked in the insurance industry since 1982 starting specialising in liability and local government. She progressed to the Liability Claims Manager for 7 years before becoming the National Claims Manager for 17 years at QBE.
Jennifer joined McLarens in 2018 as a Technical Claims Consultant working with the Specialist Services team.
Jia has 6 years experience working on Canterbury EQ claims and litigation support at the Earthquake Commission (EQC), specialising in complex claims, such as complaints, mediation, multi-unit buildings and litigation.
Jia holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma in Loss Adjusting. She is an ANZIIF (Senior Associate) CIP and AICLA (Aff). With Chinese as her first language, Jia is able to easily adjust and assist others with Chinese Insureds’ claims.
Jia joined McLarens in 2017, where she uses her general adjusting skills on a combination of commercial and domestic claim losses, such as property, contents and plant/stock and small business interruption losses.
Additionally, Jia managed EQC business as usual claims (in both building & land), as one of the Third Party service providers. She joined the McLarens Specialist Services team in May 2022 specialising in Business Interruption losses.
Jill has been in the insurance industry since 2004 and became a loss adjuster in 2015. She has experience in both domestic and commercial contents/plant and equipment claims to the Insureds and our clients satisfaction.
Jodi joined our company in 1996 initially as a Claims Technician and progressing on to being a Loss Adjuster in 2003. She has many years’ experience managing motor vehicle and material damage claims.
Jodi is the current Team Manager for our Alexandra, Dunedin, Invercargill and Queenstown offices.
Jody is a Loss Adjuster with over 20 years experience starting in the industry in 2000. She is a Senior Associate with ANZIIF holding a Diploma in Loss Adjusting and a Diploma in Accounting.
She has experience in all manner of Domestic and Commercial losses including Earthquake and Landslip, Fire, Material Damage, Contract Works and Liability fields.
John-Paul has been in the Insurance Industry since 1995, and has been a Loss Adjuster since 2009. He has experience with various types of claims including large commercial claims, specialised equipment claims and total loss claims.
Jon commenced his insurance career in 2012 as a liability adjuster following completion of his degree in conflict resolution, commercial law, and international studies. He continued his studies with a Diploma in Loss Adjusting, Cert IV Financial Services, PRI, ANZIIF (Snr Assoc) CIP, ACLA.
As a specialist adjuster, Jon has developed expertise in employee theft, public liability, service and repair, product liability, third party crime and cyber fraud, agriculture, and construction claims.
Jon is driven to provide flexible services to the client whilst ensuring each claim is handled in an efficient and pragmatic manner and the Insured is provided with the appropriate level of support and communication.
Jordan has been a Loss Adjuster since 2014 working for both 3rd party assessing and direct for Youi Insurance across general insurance.
He has previous experience working as an carpenter completing renovations, insurance repairs and new builds.
Judi started in the insurance industry in 1974 and has worked in claims, underwriting, brokering, auditing and procurement with various companies, including AA Mutual, HIH Winterthur, NZI, Wrightson Insurance Brokers and FMG.
Judi joined McLarens in 2005 as a Claims Technician and has worked on all types of commercial, residential, liability, marine and motor claims.
She is a Honorary Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
Kane has had over 10 years’ experience in adjusting losses from natural disasters ranging from Earthquake, Catastrophes to Landslips to Flooding. He has experience managing teams of Loss Adjusters and Estimator through the rebuild of Christchurch, following the 2010-2011 Canterbury Earthquake.
Kane's qualifications include an ANZIIF Diploma in Loss Adjusting, Cert & Advanced Trade Cert in Carpentry and is a Licenced Building Practitioner. He has had vast experience around New Zealand dealing with natural disaster events and the response thereof.
Kate has over 30 years’ insurance industry experience including underwriting and claims.
Kate spent 10 years as a broker managing offshore risks in the Pacific Islands and five years with the Earthquake Commission in charge of all land claims prior to returning to loss adjusting in 2012.
Kate is an expert in property, liability and landslip claims and holds an ANZIIF (Assoc) CIP qualification, a Diploma in Public Relations and a National Certificate in Professional Communications.
Keegan has been a Loss Adjuster since early 2010 and prior to this worked within the Property Management profession.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Property Management & Valuation, and a Diploma in Loss Adjusting.
He is a Senior Associate Member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, and Associate Member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters
Keith has been a loss adjuster for 15 years, completing his ANZIIF Diploma in May 2012 and is a Chartered Loss Adjuster.
Keith worked in Queensland for 10+ years as a loss adjuster/branch manager handling a variety of commercial, domestic, marine and CAR claims.
Keith also has experience assessing significant weather-related claims including cyclones Larry, Yasi & Debbie in Queensland, and storm events in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and NSW, together with several major flooding events in Queensland. Keith also assisted during the Christchurch earthquakes.
Kelly has over 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry, ranging from Claims management, Commercial and Personal Lines Underwriting, to Insurance Broking.
Since joining McLarens in 2011, Keryn has worked as a Claim Technician working on a range of claims including assisting with the CAT events across Australia and New Zealand.
Kevin has been a Loss Adjuster since 2006. Prior to that he worked for 16 years as a builder and 13 years in Property Management. Kevin holds a Trade Certificate in Carpentry.
Kris has a background as an automotive technician with a NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Heavy Automotive (Agriculture). With experience servicing tractors, light motor, forklifts and an electrical service engeineer, Kris specialise in motor since beginning with McLarens in 2017.
Kristen started in the insurance industry in 1987 working with a large insurer before becoming a Loss Adjuster in 1995.
As a Loss Adjuster, Kristen specialised in Commercial Property, Contract Words, Products and Public Liability, Residential Major Loss and Marine Transit. She has been involved in attending numerous CAT events across New Zealand and Australia and since 2018 has been heavily involved in coordinating the CAT Management Response for McLarens NZ.
She is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a Member of New Zealand Insurance Law Association.
With McLaren since 2004, Kristen became the Regional Manager - North Island in April 2018. Overseeing 16 offices, she demonstrated an incredible work ethic with a continuous desire to grow and develop the McLarens business.
Kristen was announced as General Manager - Branch Operations in August 2021 with a focus to deliver service and operational excellence across the entire branch network.
Lance spent 15 years in the motor industry working in various roles such as sales, service and panel beater before becoming a Loss Adjuster in 2017.
Lance specialises in Heavy, Light and Mechanical Motor, Service and Repair, Major Loss (Residential) and Marine Hull.
Lance holds National Certificates in Automotive Body Collison Repair Level 3 & 4 and has I-CAR Platinum recognition.
Lara has been employed in the Insurance industry since 1986. Since joining McLarens in 2002, Lara is a Loss Adjuster handling a variety of general loss adjusting including commercial and residential property.
She is an Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
Leanne started in the insurance industry spending 10 years at State Insurance gaining experience in claim resolutions. She joined the Whangarei team at McLarens in 2017 as a Claims Technician.
Lee joined McLarens as a Claims Technician in 2020. She has been in the Insurance industry for many years and has enjoyed various roles during this time.
Her strength and passion, however, remains in the claims environment. Lee has experience in managing domestic and commercial claims.
Libby started in the insurance industry in 1997, working in a variety of claim handling roles before becoming a Loss Adjuster in 2013.
Libby joined McLarens in 2013 and works in the Specialist Services team with a focus of Building Warranty and Liability claims.
Lisa has over 20 years experience in the the insurance industry as Senior Claims Consultant & Quality Assurance Coordinator. Her qualifications include a Certificate in Insurance / Diploma of Financial Services, Diploma in Loss Adjusting and Diploma in Organisational Psychology.
Lisa joined McLarens in 2012 as a Loss Adjuster and handles a wide range of commercial and domestic property buildings and contents claims, along with general liability and small contract works claims.
Logan has a background in construction and started in the insurance industry while completing a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in management and finance. He joined McLarens in 2021 as a part of the Specialist Services associate programme.
Louis started as a Loss Adjuster in 1993 and holds a NQF4INS qualification from South Africa. During his career he was a worked as a Senior Loss Adjuster in South Africa and New Zealand.
Louis specialises in domestic and commercial property losses, Contract Works, Liability and Agriculture.
Lucas commenced with McLarens in early 2020 and is a Claim Support person, focusing on Material Damage claims. Lucas has enrolled with ANZIIF and has commenced study towards a Diploma in Loss Adjusting.
Lyall has been a Loss Adjuster since 2000 specialising in Motor. He is a qualified Aircraft Engineer with experience working and managing retail sales for motorcycles and cars across the North Island.
Joining McLarens in 2004, Lyall has undertaken a number of large and complex motor and machinery losses including significant consequential loss component. He has worked on a number of rural building claims and Marine Hull repair and total loss claims where his hobby of owning boats and held skipper licence come in handy.
Maddie began her insurance career in 1998 as a fire and general loss adjuster. She gained qualifications with Diplomas in General Insurance and Loss Adjusting, ANZIIF (Snr Assoc) CIP, ACLA.
Progressing to senior adjuster, Maddie has extensive experience across contract works, marine hull and cargo, liability including mentoring large and complex domestic and commercial claims.
She has worked across natural disasters and earthquakes in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands.
Margaret is a Chartered Loss Adjuster and an ANZIIF (Fellow) who has practiced in New Zealand and the UK since 1986.
She has adjusted claims across a wide range of industries as working for General Accident (Aviva) and Zurich in the claims area. Margaret is a strong advocate for skills development and has completed appointments as President of the Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow and as the Scottish Representative of The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters.
She has worked for McLarens since she immigrated to New Zealand in 2004. Margaret was Director in charge of the 2007 Gisborne Earthquake, Catastrophe response, leading the team of adjusters and managing a portfolio of large claims.
During the Canterbury Earthquake, Catastrophes of 2010 – 2011 Margaret was the lead adjuster on a large number of major claims and also led a team that handled over 1000 cases many of which entailed a range of complexities due to incurring damage from multiple events.
Margaret has had extensive experience dealing with a range of industrial and commercial claims resulting from fire, flood and contract works in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Maritsa has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years after gaining a Bachelor of Commerce. She has extensive experience with operational processes, client service, risk mitigation and claims management.
Mark worked as an Aircraft Technician with the Royal New Zealand Air Force before joining Terra CAT (formerly Gough) as a heavy diesel technician advancing to the Service Manager.
Mark gained experience as a mobile plant fitter working for mining company, MacMahon Contractors, achieving a National Certificate in Automotive Heavy Engineering.
Mark specialise in Engineering and Machinery Breakdown, Service and Repair, Marine Hull and Heavy, Light and Mechanical Motor claims.
Mark has been a Loss Adjuster since 2007 and specialises in General Adjusting and Public Liability but also deals with motor and marine claims.
He has a broad experience in CAT response and was heavily involved in the Gisborne EQ in scoping and pricing building damage, as well as having been involved with settlement of Christchurch domestic claims.
Martonette has worked in the insurance industry since 1995 with over 10 years experience in Domestic and Commercial Property claims based overseas.
She joined McLarens in 2011 and is an Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. She specialises in methamphetamine contamination, large domestic losses and cyclone events.
Working with insurance claims both in New Zealand and internationally since 1993, Mathew has significant experience in the field of Loss Adjusting and as a Senior Claims Manager.
Throughout his career he has developed a wealth of experience in managing Property, Construction, Energy and Power losses in New Zealand, Australia, UK, Caribbean and across the Asia Pacific region.
Mathew has also led and participated in many catastrophe response teams in those areas including effectively leading the 2011 Christchurch EQ response for one NZ based Insurer. In addition to his claims handling expertise, Mathew has a proven ability to maintain a client focus in complex claims, identify the key issues, and work through strategies with multiple parties to achieve suitable outcomes for all stakeholders.
In his work both in NZ, Australia and Internationally, he has developed a strong reputation amongst Insurers, Brokers, and Clients alike for being an effective claims professional with a proven track record in settling claims across a broad range of classes.
Matt was a builder for 25 years specialising in new architectural builds prior to becoming loss adjuster in 2011. He started in the insurance industry working with IAG prior to joining McLarens in 2018. He holds a Diploma of Loss Adjusting and ANZIIF (Senior Assoc.) CIP.
Matt began with McLarens as a Senior Loss Adjuster before becoming the team manager for the Palmerston North Loss Adjusting Team. He predominantly works on commercial and domestic claims including large losses and has attended catastrophe events in New Zealand and Australia.
Matt has been in the Insurance Industry since 2009. During this time, he has managed various Domestic Property, Material Damage & Motor Vehicle Claims.
Maureen's insurance career began in 2006 where she attained a Certificate III in Financial Services - General Insurance. She then progressed to specialising in Public and Products Liability insurance across Australasia, where she honed her skills in policy interpretation and creative resolution strategies.
She is currently completing a Certificate in Agriculture and holds a Diploma of Loss Adjusting, AICLA (Aff), ANZIIF (Senior Assoc) CIP.
Since starting in our Specialist Services team in 2018 as a Liability Loss Adjuster Maureen's expertise has grown to include Building Warranty, Product Recall & Contamination, Professional Indemnity, Construction Risk and Multi-National Claims.
Meci has been involved in the insurance industry for over 20 years, firstly in the Pacific mainly Fiji and Vanuatu assisting Loss Adjusters with Material Damage losses both commercial and domestic nature. There she also gained experience with CAT events in Fiji and Vanuatu.
Meci started with McLarens in November 2011 firstly in Wanganui Branch to assist with Christchurch Earthquake claims prior to joining the Christchurch Branch in December 2012 as a Senior Claims Technician providing technical support to Commercial & Domestic Loss Adjusters.
Meci is part of the National Registration Team and is an Associate with ANZIIF.
Michele began her career with McLarens in 2018 as a Business Interruption Specialist, handling commercial losses in a variety of industries.
To date, working in the Business Interruption forum, she has been able to apply her forensic accounting skills, gained in the NZ Police, where Michele worked as a front-line constable for four years, then three years as a specialist forensic accountant in the Company Fraud Squad based in Auckland.
Outside of her policing and Insurance career, Michele has worked extensively (in excess of 20 years) in a variety of industries as an accountant, financial business analyst, business manager, financial advisor and general manager.
The variety in her working career, including forecasting, budgeting and reporting to both management and the public, has given her a solid foundation for assessing the relevant financial losses as part of her role in the Forensic Accounting team.
Michele has been in the insurance industry since 1994 before becoming a Loss Adjuster in 2011 when she joined McLarens.
Michele specialises in large contents losses, commercial burglaries, traumatic losses where additional empathy is required and other residential claims.
Mike has a background in finance and telecommunication before joining the insurance industry in 2012. Mike started at McLarens in April 2020 and specialising in content claims.
Mike spent 12.5 years as a Constable with the New Zealand Police before joining McLarens in October 2020 as a Loss Adjuster. His experience conducting police investigations is an asset when reviewing any claim. Mike is currently studying for his Diploma in Loss Adjusting.
Moshin joined McLarens in 2017 and he specialises in fire and general loss assessment. Prior to joining McLarens, Moshin spent eight years working for Insurance firms in New Zealand.
Moshin’s forte is Property claims management and he has experience managing domestic and commercial loss including earthquake claims. Moshin is a qualified member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).
Natalia began her career in the insurance industry in 1999, moving to the role of loss adjuster in 2005. Natalia specialises in residential, commercial losses and motor claims with a focus on exceptional customer service.
Natalie started with McLarens in 2018. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a background in customer service.
Paul has 22 years experience as a self employed builder with qualifications as a Licensed Building Practitioner and Trade Certificate and Advanced Trade Certificate in Carpentry.
Moving into Loss Adjusting in 2010 and gaining a Diploma in Loss Adjusting (Snr Assoc, CIP) Paul started with McLarens in 2020.
Paul is a trade qualified carpenter who spent 4 years working as a Loss Adjuster in response to the Christchurch earthquakes before joining McLarens in 2016.
Paul specialises in Major Loss across Residential and Commercial Properties, Marine Hull and Contract Works.
Paul has been a Loss Adjuster since 1982 and worked for 15 years in the Motor Vehicle Repair industry.
He holds an Advanced Trade Certificate in Automotive Engineering and specialises in Light, Heavy and Mechanical Motor, Service and Repair, Engineering and Machinery Breakdown, Agriculture and Marine Hull.
A Loss Adjuster since 1991, Paul also has 10 years experience in the Motor Vehicle Repair industry. He has a Certificate in Insurance and Advanced Trade Certificate in Panel Beating and specialises in Heavy Motor, Contract Works, Commercial Property and Marine Hull.
Paul has been in the insurance industry as a Loss Adjuster since 2012 and has experience in a wide range of domestic and light commercial claims.
He has been involved in large loss domestic fire claims, catastrophe events in New Zealand and Australia and has an interest in hillside properties associated with land damage claims and dispute resolution.

Peter has been a Loss Adjuster since 1996, and prior to that worked for 16 years in the Transport and Motor Vehicle Repair industries.
He holds an Advanced Trade Certificate in Automotive Engineering and is a Certified Diesel/Electrical Engineer.
Peter specialises in Light, Heavy and Mechanical Motor, Service and Repair, Engineering and Machinery Breakdown, Agriculture and Marine Hull.
Peter is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with over 30 years' loss adjusting experience in both New Zealand and Australia, following underwriting roles in in his early career.
He specialises in Catastrophe Response, Commercial Property, Contract Works, Major Loss, and Liability claims. He advises on issues arising from losses involving Product Recall, Public and Products Liability, Construction Liabilities, Professional Indemnity, and Major Property Damage, as well as providing Litigation Support for these claims.
Peter has adjusted claims in New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, American Samoa, Australia and England. Peter also has significant experience in catastrophe response management, having held team leadership and management roles for events in New Zealand and across the Pacific Islands.
In adjusting large and complex claims, Peter identifies the key issues and hurdles that may arise and then strategises and implements an appropriate plan to handle the claim.
Peter's focus is on communicating clearly to keep all parties aware of progress and managing expectations through each phase of the loss adjusting process, through to successful resolution.
Phil has been a Loss Adjuster since 1998 and is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. He has an Advanced Trade Certificate in Fitting, Turning and Machining and NZ Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical).
Phil specialises in Commercial Property, Residential Major Loss, Public Liability, Engineering and Machinery Breakdown and Service and Repair.
Rebecca joined McLarens in 2010 and is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance with a Diploma in Loss Adjusting and Certificate IV in General Insurance (Claims Tech).
Throughout her time at McLarens she progressed to oversee our Twenty4Seven service before moving to be a Team Leader in our Customer Solution Centre in 2019.
Rebecca started with McLarens in 2016 with 10 years previous experience with Vero Insurance NZ Ltd as a Recovery Team Leader.
Richard is a qualified diesel mechanic with over 16 years claims experience. Richard works on claims specialising in areas such as commercial property, motor, livestock and equine, rural commercial, domestic property and farm machinery.
Richard has experience working as a diesel mechanic with RFL and The Gough Group. He spent time as a Linehaul driver and as a Senior Claims Specialist with NZI Heavy Transport working on their heavy machinery and legal claims.
He spent time training staff in India on motor claims in 2018 and organised the Wellington Truck and Transport Show which fundraised for charity, Life Flight from 2007 to 2017.
Richard has a wide insurance knowledge having worked in senior claim management, underwriting and branch management roles with a major insurer for seven years prior to joining McLarens as a Loss Adjuster in 2000.
At McLarens, Richard developed into a Specialist Loss Adjuster, with a specific focus on complex and high value Material Damage, Liability and Contract Works claims. He has handled a number of complex and high value claims throughout New Zealand as well as catastrophe events across Australia. Richard was heavily involved in major loss claims that resulted from the Canterbury and Kaikoura earthquakes.
Richard is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and was promoted to the position of Executive General Adjuster within the Specialist Services team in 2018.
Richard has over 22 years experience working within the automotive industry including Japanese and German vehicle dealerships.
He obtained a National Certificate in Automotive Engineering and Business (First Line Management) and was accredited NZTA WOF Inspector carrying out safety inspections on light motor vehicles and trailers.
Robert has been a Loss Adjuster since 2005, prior to this he worked for 27 years in the Building industry, Marine Hull Repair and in Building Compliance.
He holds an Advanced Trade Certificate (Building) and specialises in small and large Domestic losses, Commercial Losses and Marine Hull.
Robyn joined McLarens in 1996 and assists the loss adjusters in the branch with their domestic and commercial material damage claims.
With the Insurance industry since 1960, Russell has been a Loss Adjuster since 1969. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.
Russell specialises in Commercial Major Loss, Public and Products Liability, Litigation Support, Contract Works, Marine. He provides technical expertise and guidance to staff by providing Peer Reviews and Quality Assurance in these disciplines.
Scott commenced his career in the Insurance Industry with McLarens in 2011 coming from an Account Management background.
He undertakes a range of property adjustments within the domestic and commercial area. Scott has spent 6 years working within IAG's Disaster Recovery Unit dealing with large value domestic losses relating to the Christchurch earthquakes.
Scott became a Team Manager in 2021 where he manages the Christchurch and Timaru teams.
Shane joined McLarens in February 2021 as a Marine Specialist with extensive experience in marine commercial, hull, marine liability and pleasure craft claims.
Shani has been with McLarens since 1987, and in 2011 moved to the role of Claims Technician.
Shani works alongside the motor loss adjusters, assisting with claims information, reporting, and liaising with Insurers, repairers, and clients.
Shavaughn started working in the insurance industry in 2006 as a Claims Technician. She holds a Certificate in General Insurance and joined McLarens in 2018 with the Customer Solutions Centre before progressing to a Loss Adjuster in 2020.
Shreya started at McLarens in 2017 moving from an administration role to a Claims Technician in 2018. She is currently studying to attain a Certificate in General Insurance.
In the insurance industry since 1988, Simon has been a Loss Adjuster since 1997 with 8 years’ experience as an Insurance Fraud Investigator. Simon is an effective communicator to all parties, to manage expectations and deliver a high level of service in a timely manner specialising n complex and major losses.
He is an Associate Member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. Simon holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Diploma of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK).
With the Insurance industry since 1990, Steve has been a Loss Adjuster since 1993.
He has attended I-CAR collision repair courses and specialises in Light and Mechanical Motor, Marine Transit, Major Loss (Commercial and Residential), Service and Repair, Contract Works and Public Liability.
With the insurance industry since 2000, Stuart has been a Loss Adjuster since 2005. He is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and is a Chartered Loss Adjuster.
Stuart holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration and specialises in Business Interruption, Commercial Property and Residential Major Loss.
Suzanne is a Chartered Accountant and Financial Loss Specialist with over 15 years as a Chartered Accountant in public practice. She specialises in Financial Lines losses including Business Interruption, Contingency, Fidelity Guarantee, and Stock Reconciliation, as well as providing Litigation Support advice and evidence.
Suzanne has gained experience in catastrophe response operations in the wake of the Canterbury Earthquake events. She has significant experience in the Financial Services industry, especially in providing loss of profits calculations to support litigation proceedings.
Suzie started in the insurance industry in 2008 working with a large insurer in their liability team gaining experience in Public Liability claims. She moved to work across both Commercial and Domestic clients specialising in Fire and General claims before moving into a number of broking roles in Auckland and Dunedin.
Suzie holds a Master of Science from the University of Otago and Master of Philosophy in Science from AUT University.
Suzie joined McLarens in early 2021 as a Domestic Loss Adjuster with the Auckland team before joining the Specialist Services team in May 2022 with a focus on Liability.
Tania commenced her insurance career with McLarens in 2002, she is an Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and specialises in Property (Building and Contents) losses.
Te Rina joined McLarens in 2017 after three years working as Loss Adjuster Support for IAG. She is experienced in dealing with domestic and commercial material damage losses.
With the insurance industry since 1986, Tim has been a Loss Adjuster since 2004. He was an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and is a Chartered Loss Adjuster.
He is an Associate Member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters, a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a Certified Insurance Professional (CIP)
Tim is the team manager of the Napier, Gisborne, Rotorua and Taupo branches.
With the industry since 1994, Tina commenced with McLarens in 2000 and specialises in general and commercial claims.
In November 2021, Tina moved into the role of Customer Solutions Team Manager, where she leads a team focusing predominantly on building losses.
Tina has worked within the insurance industry since 2003 and was employed with one of the larger Insurance companies in New Zealand, Suncorp (Vero) as Motor Claims Resolution and Recovery Manager, prior to joining McLarens in March 2019.
She has broad knowledge of the Claims function, Property and Motor. Prior to joining McLarens as TPA and National Motor Business Manager, she was responsible for the end to end Motor claims function, Debt Recovery, and Off-Shore Partnering for Suncorp NZ.
Tina is a trained lean process coach and has a strong focus on measuring performance against industry benchmarks. She has a proven record of developing and maintaining an outstanding team culture based on accountability and performance.
Tracy has worked in the insurance industry since 2008 managing claims for a direct Insurer as well as claims for a broking company.
She has been with McLarens since 2018 starting as a Claims Technician and progressed into a Loss Adjuster role in 2020.
Trina started in the insurance industry in 1999 with a large insurer and entered the claim sector in 2000. In 2007, Trina moved to work at a small boutique broking house, servicing nationwide commercial and domestic clients.
In 2011, Trina took a position with a loss adjusting firm, two weeks prior to the Canterbury Earthquake, and joined McLarens in 2018 as the Wellington Branch Manager. As a Loss Adjuster Trina specialises in Body Corporates and heritage buildings. She has been largely involved in a number of catastrophes in New Zealand and Australia.
Trina is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and is on the committee of AICLA's NZ Division.
Trudy has worked in the New Zealand Insurance Industry since 1986 with experience in a number of areas including Underwriting and Team Leader and General claims.
Joining McLarens in 2005, Trudy specialises in managing the claims process end to end.
Ursula has been in the client service industry for over 20 years. She owned and managed a Security Specialist retail outlet and have experience security equipment and installation.
She initially joined McLarens during the April 2018 storm CAT events as an internal loss adjuster and before moving to be involved working on EQC claims. She progressed to the role of Customer Solutions Team Manager - Natural Hazards in May 2022.
Her areas of expertise lies in General Insurance Claims Management.
With the Insurance industry since 1999, Vanessa has been a Loss Adjuster since 2007.
Vanessa has worked catastrophe events in both New Zealand and Australia, including working on both residential and commercial Christchurch EQ claims from 2010 to 2018.
She specialises in Commercial/Residential Major Loss, Commercial Property, Contract Works, Liability and Rural.
Warren has been a Loss Adjuster since 1987 and owned his own Loss Adjusting business in Perth prior to moving to New Zealand in 1993.
Joining McLarens in 1994, Warren specialises in Complex Major Losses, Contract Works and Liability Claims.
Wayne began his Building Apprenticeship in Gisborne in 1985 before changing career to a Loss Adjuster with State Insurance (IAG ) in 1998.
In 2003, he moved with the family to Tauranga, where he started a new Loss Adjusting role with Royal Sun Alliance (Vero, Suncorp).
This was followed by a six month stint back on the tools in the building industry doing some insurance repair work, before starting his role with McLarens in Tauranga.
Wendy has extensive experience in the insurance industry working in a number of roles across Australia and New Zeland, including Dawsons Insurance Brokers for 12 years.
Building up her experience across a number of claim management roles, Wendy joined McLarens in 2005.
