Expect the Unexpected - NZILA Conference 2025

Several of our team headed to the stunning surrounds of Queenstown from 8th to 10th October 2025 for the NZILA Insurance Law Conference, themed “Expect the Unexpected.” 

We kicked off the conference in style on Wednesday night, co-hosting a Welcome Mixer with Fee Langstone. It was a great way to connect and mingle with everyone before the sessions began. The theme came to life through a fantastic line-up of speakers, including Justice Neil Campbell and Ant Williams, who shared valuable and thought-provoking insights on the ever-changing legal and insurance landscape.

We were proud to be the Gold Sponsor of the Conference Dinner, held at the picturesque Walter Peak Station. Attendees boarded the historic TSS Earnslaw for a scenic cruise across Lake Whakatipu before enjoying a delicious buffet dinner. The evening continued with a lively sheep shearing and rounding demonstration, where our Managing Director, Andrew Brooke, delivered a warm welcome speech.

As the evening drew to a close, attendees boarded the party boat back to Queenstown amid light rain, enjoying live music and plenty of laughter along the way.

Overall, it was an excellent event and a fantastic opportunity for our team to connect, learn, and truly embrace the unexpected.
