Getting Resilience Right: ICNZ Conference
Yesterday, the ICNZ Conference 2025 took place at the Aotea Centre in Auckland, bringing together industry leaders to discuss some of the most pressing challenges in the insurance sector. With this year’s theme, Getting Resilience Right, the conference focused on key issues such as the Government’s priorities, climate change, regulation, building industry trust, and ensuring insurance delivers for customers.
We were proud to be a sponsor of this year’s event, helping to fuel the day’s great mood by sponsoring the coffee barista, who served up delicious brews in our sustainable keep cups. Our booth was also a highlight, with Andrew Brooke, Janine Mostert and Sarah Collis hosting and networking throughout the day. Attendees got a hands-on experience with our smoothie bike, where just 10 seconds of pedal power blended up the McLarens Colada, Adjusta-Berry, or the crowd-favourite Tropical Cyclone.
Alongside our smoothie goodness, we handed out a selection of giveaways, including notebooks made from sugarcane, reinforcing our focus on sustainability.
The conference featured a stellar line-up of speakers, including Sir Ian Taylor and Ben Taylor, who shared insights into resilience, innovation, and the role of technology in shaping the future. Hon. Simon Watts, Minister of Climate Change, Energy, Local Government and Revenue, provided a government perspective on climate change policies and their impact on the insurance sector.
A series of expert-led panel discussions tackled critical industry topics:
- Climate Change – Examining its growing impact on the sector and strategies for adaptation.
- Regulation – Exploring the current regulatory landscape and what’s needed for a more resilient future.
- Building Industry Trust – Addressing transparency, customer confidence, and ethical responsibilities.
- Getting Insurance Right – Discussing how insurers can better meet customer needs and expectations.
The conference provided a fantastic platform to engage with industry peers, share ideas, and discuss the future of resilience in insurance.
We’re excited to see how these conversations evolve into real-world solutions and look forward to continuing our part in shaping a more resilient industry.
Thanks to ICNZ for hosting another excellent event—here’s to keeping the momentum going!
