NZUAC: Navigating Soft Markets Together
Yesterday, the team of Andrew Brooke, Janine Mostert, Danie Keyser, Scott Shaw and Keegan Harpur attended the second New Zealand Underwriting Agencies Council (NZUAC) Christchurch Expo, where we were proud sponsors once again.
This year’s theme was Navigating Soft Markets Together, with conversations centred around the current market environment and how we can move forward as an industry.
We sponsored the coffee cart, fuelling attendees with barista-made coffees served in eco-friendly, sustainable cups.
A new feature this year was the round table “speed dating” sessions — quickfire 10-minute discussions where attendees rotated between tables hosted by industry experts. It was a dynamic format that encouraged fresh thinking and direct engagement on key topics.
The keynote speaker, Tim Grafton, former Chief Executive of the Insurance Council of New Zealand, shared timely insights on the impact of softening markets and what they might mean for all of us.
Our stall was buzzing all day, with notebooks made from sugar cane, phone holders crafted from bamboo and wheat straw, lip balm and air fresheners quickly snapped up. The “Guess the Jelly Beans in the Bottle” competition was once again a crowd favourite.
It was a sold-out event and a great opportunity to reconnect with industry partners. Thanks to NZUAC for a well-run event — we look forward to the next one.
