Record Rainfall for Auckland

At 9pm Friday evening, 27 January, MetService upgraded their orange warning to a red Heavy Rain Watch Warning for Auckland region, after of downpours of 80mm per hour.

Overnight, major flooding occurred across the region with many houses evacuated, roads closed including state highways, and a state of emergency was declared.

We hope that you, your family and loved ones are staying safe and dry in the Auckland region. We are working hard to attend each assignment, especially those who are vulnerable.

Even though McLarens HQ in Auckland CBD was affected and unable to be accessed, it was fantastic to see such a great turnout of volunteers at the briefing this morning - 8am Sunday 29th January, in our procured temporary office space.

We feel truly proud and humbled to have such an amazing team supporting the community. A big thank you to each of you for offering your time over the long weekend, to help those in need.

Our First Response teams through ModeConnect are undertaking make safe and emergency works, including strip outs. We are working through the logistics of the closure of the Auckland Airport but we are moblising loss adjusting resources from around the country and internationally to assist with the volume of incoming claims.

We are expanding our dedicated virtual team to ensure we are accurately triaging and prioritising vulnerable clients who have immediate needs and where possible, desk assessment and virtual desktop services like ConnectMeLIVE will be utilised.
