Regeneration | Whakahounga - NZILA Conference 2024

Last week, our team had the privilege of attending the 2024 NZILA Conference, New Zealand’s premier insurance law event, held at the Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre. This sold-out event brought together the best in the industry to discuss important developments, exchange knowledge, and explore the future of insurance law.

As proud Gold Sponsors, we were delighted to support the conference and engage with so many industry professionals over the course of the three-day event.

NZILA 2024

In true McLarens fashion, we kicked off proceedings by hosting a Welcome Mixer alongside Fee Langstone on the opening night. Held at The Terrace, Rydges Latimer Christchurch, this event provided the perfect opportunity for everyone to unwind and connect in a relaxed atmosphere after the official conference welcome. It was a great way to ease into the busy days ahead, allowing attendees to network and socialise over drinks in a lively setting.

One of the highlights of the week was the Conference Dinner, which we proudly supported as part of our ongoing partnership with NZILA. The dinner was held at The Tannery, a quirky venue located in a 19th-century industrial precinct, now transformed into an eclectic and charming space. The evening consisted of a two-course plated dinner, followed by dessert and dancing at the Blue Smoke bar. Attendees enjoyed a charming setting, delicious food, and the chance to unwind after an information-packed day.

Special shoutouts to our own Janene Paki, who delivered an excellent, touching opening speech for our sponsored Conference Dinner and Keegan Harpur, who, as an NZILA committee member, introduced some of the speakers.

The conference had a full schedule of insightful presentations and discussions, providing a platform for industry leaders to share their expertise and for attendees to expand their knowledge. From thought-provoking topics to key industry trends, it was a great opportunity for our team to engage and learn from some of the best in the field.

We are incredibly proud to have been a part of this event and look forward to next year’s conference in Queenstown!
