Serving Up Support at Ronald McDonald House
On Monday, 24th Match, a group from our Auckland branch put their cooking skills to the test, preparing a delicious meal for families staying at Ronald McDonald House – Auckland Domain.
Ronald McDonald House Charities provides free accommodation and essential support to families during challenging times. In 2023 alone, they supported over 4,400 families across New Zealand. We’re proud to contribute to this incredible cause and offer a helping hand.
Our team of Evan Homan, Erika Cox, Gayatri Keshav, Jacob Newman Kemp, Jess Harrison, Jordan Fransen, Phil Lie, Ratna Shah, and Tim Head, cooked up a comforting meal of venison lasagne with coleslaw and garlic bread, followed by banana self-saucing pudding with ice cream. In total, they provided meals for around 30 families, with extra portions packed for the hospital’s family rooms and Starship Children's Hospital.
This effort was made possible thanks to the McLarens Global CommUNITY initiative, which generously funded the cost of ingredients.
The experience was not only a great team effort but also incredibly rewarding. The families were so appreciative, and after a tour of the accommodation and a chance to learn more about the charity, the team left feeling truly inspired.
Beyond the meal, we’re continuing to support Ronald McDonald House families by collecting essential donations, including toys, personal care items, kitchen essentials, and non-perishable food. With Easter around the corner, we’re also adding a few festive treats to bring extra joy.
