Supporting the Christchurch Community
Supporting our CommUNITY.
McLarens NZ recently held its annual charitable client function in Christchurch. The event, which brought together clients, industry professionals, and community members, was a resounding success, raising $5,000 for a worthy cause: Ronald McDonald House.
The evening was filled with excitement as guests enjoyed a thrilling horseracing experience, fostering an atmosphere of friendly competition and celebration as lack of any type of racing knowledge was met with lots of laughter and fun to try and pick a winner. Amidst the hilarity, attendees also had the opportunity to network and forge valuable connections within the industry.
However, the true spirit of the event was centred around giving back to the community. As part of McLarens CommUNITY, our global responsible business program, the event aimed to support local communities and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. This year, the chosen beneficiary was Ronald McDonald House, an organisation renowned for its outstanding work in the community.
Ronald McDonald House provides vital support to families with seriously ill children, offering a home away from home during their time of need. We recognised the exceptional contributions made by Ronald McDonald House and was determined to make a difference by directing all proceeds from the event to this noble cause after a tragic event saw one of our own use their services.
In an unexpected and lighthearted twist added to the fundraising efforts, Ian Hempleman, our Finance Director took a unique approach to contribute to the cause by pledging to cut off his ponytail to which an additional $2,000 was raised.
The success of the charitable client function in Christchurch highlighted not only the generosity and compassion of the attendees but also our unwavering commitment to our responsible business program. Through initiatives like this, McLarens NZ continues to strengthen its bond with the local community and create a brighter future for those in need.
