Waves of Wisdom: Marine Thought Leadership

Our Marine Technical Team hosted this year’s Marine Thought Leadership Seminar on Wednesday, 26th November, at the Viaduct Yacht Club in Auckland. The event brought together underwriters, brokers, and lawyers from across the sector for an afternoon of lively discussion, knowledge sharing, and networking afloat.

The seminar featured insightful presentations from:

• Matthew Flynn, McElroys – Ship Arrest in Admiralty
• John Cupitt, McLarens – Anchoring Confidence: How Warranty Surveys Keep Global Projects Moving

Each speaker offered valuable insight into current issues influencing the marine industry and highlighted the complexities involved in marine claims. Their presentations showed that technical knowledge and expertise are essential to navigate these claims and our team has the capability to do just that.

Events like these allow our Marine team to chart new waters, share technical expertise, support professional development, and foster collaboration across the sector while driving stronger outcomes for clients. As a bonus, attendees also earned some CIP points.
